Samsung totally messed up selling price for S3 in India...there was no single price bracket... intial 2 weeks its sellign above 39k..later it slowly comedown to around 38k... now retailers are selling for even 36.5k we all have to appreciate Apple here , people can accuse them of overpricing bt atleast it stays for 9/10 months unlike other manufactures :hatsoff: MRP announced for S3 is 43180...sale price was 39900
bulbul Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 HTC X one seems better than this. lot of arguments over that in internet...but majority feels S3 is better Build quality and LCD screen is awsome in HTC but Smasung have removable battery and MicroSD card along with some unique software features which doesnt have in HTC... also battery life is better in S3 [eventhought some issues in both phones]
bulbul Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 haha, good one rajiv, nice touch with the apple :P btw, I would like to say that the bhaisaab log of the US get 2gb ram, which makes it a sweet deal for them, unlike for us in the pure land. but they get only dual core [eventhough at current quadcore doesnt have much application] but even better is Korean version Quad core + 2GB Ram

The S3 loses out on the screen due to it's super AMOLED display which is inferior in quality to the HTC one X. Image quality is better on the S3 than the One as cropping of pictures is also possible. Overall it's an even stevens I would say. As for any phone it depends on the features you want to use it for most.

As for any phone it depends on the features you want to use it for most. again its all subjective...people who wants Microsd and removable battery dont have any option other than going to S3 memory available in HTC - 32gb [25gb usable] S3 - 16,32,64 + upto 64 micoSD card [same amount of usable intenal memory as HTC..means 32gb will give only 25GB]
Shane Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 but they get only dual core [eventhough at current quadcore doesnt have much application] but even better is Korean version Quad core + 2GB Ram The Quadcore is four A9 chips, whereas the stripped dual core from T-Mobile and co. are two A15's. So not much difference there. Its around 650$ with contract which is still cheap as compared to India. These days I am really keen on an iPad 2 the 16 GB version, it real VFM, best deal for is 23.5, I might get one next week. Is there any place in Mumbai or any e-commerce website where I could get it for cheaper?
EnterTheVoid Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 iPad 2 is a waste of time. I got the iPad 3 + 4G + 16 GB for $700 outright, get that instead.

LCD's are brighter but contrast of Super Amoled plus takes the cake. The thing which makes HTC One X better is the design and polycarbonate build. S3 is again plastic. If you buys such high end phone, it should like that too. http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_iii_vs_htc_one_x-review-759p2.php
Shane Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 iPad 2 is a waste of time. I got the iPad 3 + 4G + 16 GB for $700 outright, get that instead. I dont need the mobile network as I wont be carrying it to work and I can also do without a retina display and a 5MP camera if it can save me around 15k. Instead I might get a 4 port wifi media usb hub for around 6k, to wirelessly stream content from my WD hard drive. check this out : _t7q9xCul7Y
Shane Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 @ rkt the S3 is Super AMOLED, not the Super AMOLED Plus.

Sadly, while that may have been a great compliment a year or two ago, the quality and viewing angles of AMOLED have recently been bypassed by refinements in LCD technology. HTC's One X is the standout demonstration of that offering unrivalled clarity, color balance, and viewing angles. In all of those respects, the Galaxy S III is one or two tiers below the One X: its display has the usual blue tinge characteristic of AMOLED displays, which gets worse as you begin to look at it off-center. http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/25/3042640/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-review
