StriKe Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Samsung Galaxy S III may not be a major update over the S II The successor of the Samsung Galaxy S II - let's call it the Galaxy S III though that might not be its final name - has been a hot topic of conversation for months now. Now a new rumor suggests that all the imaginative rumors are wrong and the S III will be a relatively minor update. An anonymous source talking to CNET claims that the S III will be to the S II what the iPhone 4S was to the iPhone 4 - a boost in processing power and a cool-sounding (though not necessarily useful) interaction feature. The source pointed towards the HTC One X as what to expect from the Galaxy S III's specs - so a quad-core CPU (likely an Exynos rather than Tegra), 1GB of RAM and a 4.7" screen. The bigger screen is supported by the leaked images of the S III that show a five column UI, rather than four columns on the S II and its 4.3" screen. The new interaction feature is reportedly dubbed Human Interaction by Samsung and will use the front-facing camera to keep track of where your eyes are pointed - and it will lock the screen when you look away. Samsung has an event scheduled for May 3 and the most likely phone to be announced at it is the Galaxy S III, so that's when we'll see if the source is right or not. Source

I'm thinking of sticking to S2, will probably get a good price for a very good phone With 2 year new contract, atleast here in USA, one is better of paying $199for a new phone than getting s2 which might go at $99when new set comes out. I dont know much about uk but here usually all new phones are $199 with contract

I had also used Htc wildfire for a month in 2011 and it sucked ass, iPhone on the other hand is nearly perfect (only if it had flash :( )

Zap_Brannigan Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 That will be around 11 months since i bought S2. Quadcore is well and good but S2 is still a beast. Unless app's target quadcore, there is no need to upgrade. Recently, i wanted to get a 2nd phone but after looking at the newer phones, apart from galaxy note, S2 was still the best. Maybe the 2 new HTC ones are better?!

10DuLKaR Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I have S2 for 10 months now, bought it on the launch date, mine is from the very first manufactured batch. I don't have any problems. Maybe your unit is faulty? What issues you having? I only have small issues if I flash a custom ROM to it. If running on official ROMs it works absolutely fine.

At times he spent 4-5 hrs a day on his phone :)
