kidnextdoor Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 there should be 16 teams in the IPL and divided in 4 divisions: South: Deccan Chennai Bangalore Kochi West: Mumbai Pune Jaipur Ahmedabad East: Kolkata 1 Team From North East States Ranchi/Patana Bhubaneswar North Delhi Mohali Bhopal Lucknow each team plays teams in each division 2 times 1 home/ 1 on road each team plays teams from other division 1 times, alternating between home and road each year 6+12 matches division winners and 2 wild cards reach playoffs, top 2 division winners on opposite sides of the bracket with bye in first round bottom 2 division winners and wild card teams play each other winner plays top 2 Finals best of 3 at neutral venue
