...so now that we have had guys not talking to girls, and gender bias etc, how about some fun times in school/college/work when mingling with opposite gender is always fun? You know the kind where there is Annual function (fete), and you step out wearing Govinda waala jeans or Madhuri Dixit waala puffed shoulder salwaar, looking like a total road-chaap but thinking otherwise?? And please dont forget the 25 rupaye waala Charlies perfume or extra dose of Santoor talcum powder! And the moment when the eyes meet..uff... Muddatein gujar gayin par ab tak woh thikaana yaad hai humko ab tak aashiqui ka woh jamaana yaad hai.. So here goes, please put forth the songs you may have played for your muse. I have a far more involved story to do with music and wooing my fiancé. When I was working on winning her back, I would listen to new music non-stop on my computer and it would show up on my last.FM profile. She used to stalk this page, and I would play songs whose titles would form a message of sorts when you read the playlist in sequence. So every morning when she checked there would be a new letter made with song titles waiting for her. Stopping before I overload the mush factor on this thread.

:girl_sigh: You should have perhaps elaborated on that, sounds like a terrific memory right there. That song though - Baahon mein chale aao - is so apt for a late night pillow talk, phone conversation perhaps accentuates it even more :agree:

I wonder if it is because you hear the person, but since you arent in the same room, you are there and yet you are in a very imaginative world. Yeah!! :girldance: It is one of the common theme for a college goer. Every guy my age went to Engineering college to become a majnu, none to become a Mechanical Engineer. And what brings forth majnu-ism more than songs. We used to have Annual functions, where often the most hungama used to be at these music stalls. Man we waited for the fete' night, it was an awesome blast. Made so many great memories there. In my last year at college apne bhi gareebi ke din thode door huye the, ek gaana hamare naam pe bhi baj gaya tha. It was rendered anonmyous and man I turned no corners to try to find who was this girl. But boy can girls keep a secret!! Never found it till leaving college time, wo jab autograph book pe likha jaata tha tamaam zindagi ka kaala chittha. Thats another fun thing to yap about daroo maar ke sometime. I wonder where she is now.....:friends:

Perhaps the best work of Khayyam and considering it had Jaanishaar Akhtar penning down gems, might be a good candidate for best album ever. So who was this for?? Thora details :winky: A sidenote here, yaad aa gaya aapke jikr se, Qabban Mirza saab has another gem in Razia Sultan - Khuda Khair kare. I was representing my college in Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad Engg event and this was the tie-breaker song in Quizzing. One of OBrien brothers were hosting it and they played the song and asked who the singer was..and I belted out everything from singer to writer. Our group went nuts... What memories. lol..Khaas ke Engineering college. Hamare seniors ke batch mein 15 girls for 250 strength batch. Do your math. Gender inequality my Bhala ho hamare batch mein women reservation lagoo ho gaya tha. Warna I would have become a Naxalite in jungles of Jharkhand :secret:

Am glad the song brought back some pleasant memories. Khuda khaie kare is also a fav of mine. Jaan Nisar Akhtar, Khayyam and Kabban Mirza waah ji wah And I agree, this has to be one of the best albums. Every song is a gem. Jalta hai badan, aye khuda shukr tera though neglected are excellent as well. Sad and ironic that a man with such a deep and rich voice as Kabban Mirza died of throat cancer :((

Norhing much to add. that's pretty much it. You are right about the song. And there something about phone chats and budding love, especially in the night. There is much wisdom in what a mother told her daughter about them: no good can come from a phone conversation after 11. :giggle:
