Ultimate_Game Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 True' date='must be brought in asap, but pujara also deserves another look in.Hopefully vvs will have the good sense to retire b4 the next series.[/quote'] If VVS doesn't have enough sense he should be dropped. There's no way we can carry so many dinosaurs in the team now given the 0-8 debacle. Rohit, Pujara and Rahane should all get a look-in the team in the near future with our batting order as follows in the near future... Gambhir Sehwag/Dhawan/Mukund Rahane Kohli Rohit Pujara
vvvslaxman Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 True' date='must be brought in asap, but pujara also deserves another look in.Hopefully vvs will have the good sense to retire b4 the next series.[/quote'] VVS could make us wait with a 100 you never know. He has no career in IPL. So he will try to prolong his test career as long as possible. Such a sad plight for a guy who earned us memorable wins while guys like Saurab Tiwary will be laughing all the way to the bank with millions of dollars.
Sehwag1830 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I genuinely think Sehwag should bat at 4/5 now , And Gambhir/Rahane should open. Sehwag should now guide Indian middle order.
vvvslaxman Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I genuinely think Sehwag should bat at 4/5 now ' date=' And Gambhir/Rahane should open. Ultimate_Game Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I genuinely think Sehwag should bat at 4/5 now ' date=' And Gambhir/Rahane should open. Sehwag should now guide Indian middle order.[/quote'] Sehwag is not ideal for guiding. His best position is still at the top where he can take advantage of aggressive fields and put pressure on opponents.
Sehwag1830 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Viru should bat at the top in subcontinental conditions. That is where his batting works. Atleast for a series or two before failing. We need to build up for next overseas tour from now. Need to find a decent opener. Sehwag's failure was the main reason we did so bad in batting in ENG/OZ.

U must look at his fitness also, atleast sachin is fit,but with vvs u never know.it will be ideal for him to go now.
Ultimate_Game Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 U must look at his fitness also' date='atleast sachin is fit,but with vvs u never know.it will be ideal for him to go now.[/quote'] We already know what his fitness is like. He has a bad back and most of his match winningknocks in the recent past came when he had a runner in and was strugglin. With the new rule where you can't get a runner it simply doesn't make any sense to keep Laxman in the team.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 If VVS doesn't have enough sense he should be dropped. There's no way we can carry so many dinosaurs in the team now given the 0-8 debacle. Ultimate_Game Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Are you serious? Dhawan? I would take a flier on him. He has a good temperament and let's face it we don't really have too many openers around.
vamos_rafa Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I would take a flier on him. He has a good temperament and let's face it we don't really have too many openers around. Sorry to disagree but Sehwag would still be a better bet than Dhawan.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I would be a better bet than Shikar Dhawan. The guy is a joke.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 UG, Still think Dhawan and Mukund are better options than Sehwag? Both averaged 7 (yes 7) on the tour of the WI.
Marut Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Sehwag and Gambhir are off color, but they are still the best we have, until proven otherwise.
Raghav_12 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Sehwag and Gambhir are off color' date=' but they are still the best we have, until proven otherwise.[/quote'] Forget about Sehwag and Gambhir, looking at the way these guys playing WI, we might be requesting Dravid to come out of retirement sometime soon.
