King
Good thread MP. Got to know a lot of records I never knew about. The insane records are 501*, 400, Afridi's fastest ODI 100, Anil Kumlbe and Jim Laker's 10 wickets in an inning. Link to comment
Donny
I was about to mention Narendra. One of my mottos in life is: Never say never. Anything's possible. For instance: Who would've thought it was possible for a bowler to debut in a Test match with 2 hauls of 8 wickets ? In 1972, Bob Massie did it. He took 8/84 & 8/53 in an Ashes Test at Lord's. 16/137. Who took the other 4 ? The great Dennis Lillee. Nearly 16 years later, not only did Narendra Hirwani repeat the performance, he bettered it by ONE RUN ! He took 8/61 & 8/75. 16/136. Incredibly, Massie just 'lost his swing' and played only 5 more Tests. Cricinfo: "And though Hirwani took 20 further wickets in his next three Test appearances, his fortunes changed when he left the spin-friendly surfaces of India. The magic never quite returned, and the arrival of Anil Kumble sentenced him largely to domestic cricket." Link to comment
MundaPakistani
Walshe's 1/7 in ODI vs SL.... impossible to break. it was 5/1. Ambrose and Sarfraz have both bowled a 7/1 spell, Sarfraz ended up with figures of 9 for 86. Link to comment
Gambit
Conceding less than 3 runs in a completed 10 over spell in an ODI. Phil Simmons 10 overs 3 runs 4 wickets v Pak. Link to comment
Ram
How Sunil Joshi's 5/6 against South Africa ? That seems a bit surreal now. Link to comment
