JourneyMan Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 No offence to all the fangirls, but Tendulkar is seriously becoming a joke. It's bad enough that his 100th 100 will go down in history as a slow record chase that cost his team a decent total, and that too against a B-grade opponent. All the awe and respect that he commanded is crumbling to bits as rookie bowlers are getting the better of him and making him look clueless. He might as well step out while he's still well regarded before people openly start pointing out that he's occupying a spot in their team without contributing.
vamos_rafa Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Are you talking about the Indian team or the MI team?
rkt.india Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 :WTF: SRT pulls all the people to the stadium. How he is a burden? He is making Ambanis reap profits through ticket sales.
CSK Fan Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Everyone knows Sachin is there only for his brand name and crowd pulling abilites. This is also the reason why Ambani has and will continue to retain him paying huge sums to BCCI and Sachin. Sachin does not even seem to be interested in playing, to be honest. His body language and even his involvement while fielding where he is usually very animated, are clear indications.

bulbul Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Will do better than any other opener in MI. if u change opener in every other match..definitely

Needforspeed Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Is the OP a MI fan? The great man brings greater value to the team than all the other guys put together. What are the other guys doing? He scored some decent runs..while overrated guys like Gibbs and Smith were a big fail. And KKR is a 'B' grade opposition? Then who are the A graders?
Executioner Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 bhajji is another burden. MI have good players and there are also the bad players

Then who are the A graders? what greater values..teams won tourney's without these great values...you need players who perform consistnatly in power play overs to a team to be succeded in T20.. what will players like Surya yadav and Suman think sitting day in day out on dugouts about greater values?? nothing against Sachin's greatness..but not sure how he is different from dada ..as MTC said he is reluctant plyer :dontknow:
Number Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 ^ Even yesterday he was their highest scorer with some decent S/R. Same in 2 games they won against Pune and Chennai, Pune on difficult track. They can give others a chance on other end in opening where everyone is failing, but it's foolish to blame Sachin for a loss even when he is the top scorer.

Needforspeed Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 SR of 100 odd' date=' slow batting in PP.[/quote'] I agree...but the asking rate was only 7 per over and Tendulkar wanted to ensure they did not lose wickets upfront. Batting was not easy on the pitch.
Number Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 played only 12 deliveries in PP, Gibbs kept consuming them and produced nothing. Over S/R 112.
rkt.india Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I agree...but the asking rate was only 7 per over and Tendulkar wanted to ensure they did not lose wickets upfront. Batting was not easy on the pitch. That is the reason why scoring quickly in power play was necessary. Pitch was good for batting. Apart from Narine, no spinner turned the ball and Narine does it everywhere. Ball was coming on to the bat. Their cautious approach did them in. They do not even have seamers to take the benefit of the pitch.
rkt.india Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 played only 12 deliveries in PP' date=' Gibbs kept consuming them and produced nothing. Over S/R 112.[/quote'] Gibbs was real culprit. He struggled again Abdulla and Hasan, bot are ordinary spinners to say the least and didnt even turn the ball.
rkt.india Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 They should open with Rayudu. He is on good form and bat well both against pace and spin. He should be given the license to attack. Videshi openers are not working for most teams because struggle against spin even if one is an ordinary spinner.
