Espn has already overpaid for that.

Dont you remember the weird timing of the 2007 WC games. But BCCI don't really want them to as its only going to get hosting fees anyway, which will be much less than what they could earn from hosting their own games. The stark reality of cricket is that 80% of the games revenue comes from India. You cant ignore that.

Last year's CLT20 was a miserable flop and barring games which didnt have IPL teams, the attendance was very poor. So they're trying to get some publicity and viewership through the Pak angle. BCCI's criminal mind at work.
Sundar88 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 The reason Chennai has been hosting many knockout matches (including finals) is because they were champs for 2 years. The team that wins the IPL gets to host the opening ceremony, first match, an eliminator and finals for the next year. Last year's CLT20 final was also played there since CSK had won both the IPL and CLT20 in 2010. This year I'm not sure whether the finals will be played in Kolkata or Mumbai since KKR won the IPL whereas MI won last year's CL.
