Is Varun Aaron Ready

Varun Aaron is a rarity in Indian Cricket. He's a bowler who can bowl 140-145+ consistently and on a good wicket can bowl a fairly good bouncer but he lacks consistency and variation (due to his age) and after watching him for Delhi he needs to toughen up mentally something Domestic Cricket and tours with India A can do a good job at With Umesh and Aaron we have two very similar bowlers who with experience can become very very good bowling partners but are we pushing Aaron into the Indian team too quickly due to a lack of quality bowlers or are we doing the right thing by bringing him now rather than later and letting him learn from his mistakes

He and Yadav should be in the team .We gotta mould these guys into really good bowlers else another golden opportunity will be lost .

Yes. And if not a year in the team will make him ready
Will the management and the fans be patient enough to wait that long If after 2-3 bad games fans dont call for his head or the selectors dont drop him then yes we should keep him but if he was to be dropped then refining his talent in Domestic Cricket and India A away from the spotlight might be better for him

When trundlers like VK can be given repeated opportunities despite mediorcre performances, Aaron definitely should be given opportunities. After all an Indian fast bowler is a very rare commodity.

Hasn't done anything that he deserves to be dropped from ODIs in the opportunities he has got. Continue the run.
well the last ODI he played was on Dec 2, 2011, so its been long time

that's what I meant to say there. He doesn't deserve to be dropped as of now as his performances have been decent. You misinterpreted me. :cantstop:

At the moment he is not. He needs at least one full Ranji season under his belt to be considered for India. Umesh and Ishant (once he recovers) are a better bet in the near term.
Ishant for how long, its the wicket column that matters

Ishant for how long' date=' its the wicket column that matters[/quote'] He's still far ahead of Aaron at the moment. I didn't really see anything from Aaron in the Test he played and he's clueless when batsmen target him in shorter formats.

Ishant Sharma and Stuart Broad were the two fast bowlers who bowled more than 500 international overs between April 2011-March 2012. This is after Ishant came back from a major injury, this time he needs a good break then at least a few months in the domestic circuit to gain his form back and then a good run in with India A and FINALLY into Team India BUT knowing our selector he will back as soon as he can bowl without falling over

and that too just 2 matches..people usually forget first 5 matches as they suffer from short term memory

Awana, Umesh, AARON NEED TO BE PLAYED, they can be rotated, they need more experience, have done well so far ,there is no point in judging a bowler based on a couple of bad overs in IPL LOL.Ishant, Zak CAN BE THE BACKBONE AND THE NEXT GENERATION NEEDS TO TAKE OVER FROM ZAK IN A YEAR, why are people complaining as first time in the history of Indian cricket we have three potent fast bowlers who can bowl in 150's, they can only get better from here and stay fit.
