Khalpat Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I am not sure why muslims use to hate him so much. They actually spitted on his face when Sardar came to Dargah of Hazrat Nizammudin. As I said in my another thread also, he actually was the person who instigated people to massasacre muslims going to Pakistan once. He was under the assumption that this administrative decision of his will stop killing of Hindus from other side. This decision worked or not but killing actually stopped. He was also responsible for reviving Somnath Temple. Remember this was also a complicated case similar to Ayodhya. Thank God NDTV and Tehelka was not there that time or else he would have been also in the same league of Modi.
Muloghonto Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I am not sure why muslims use to hate him so much. They actually spitted on his face when Sardar came to Dargah of Hazrat Nizammudin. Because Patel had no problem with muslim bloodshed if it meant gain for India. Duh. Patel = pro government legalist. Everything comes second to government legalism. Muslims were either busy being courted by Jinnah or by the dumb 'govt. protected Sharia law under different civic code for muslim' policy of the Congress that not even Patel could stand against. To them, patel was obviously not as attractive a choice. Look. The easiest way to understand Patel is to think like Genghis Khan & his descendants (the real Chinggisids, ie,his direct bloodlines, not the later psuedo-mongols that Babur or Timur was). Everyone knows of their brutality, but few realize what Genghis or his children did to the cities that surrendered to him. They did nothing. They were of the 'you surrender - therefore you pay X amount of taxes, Y amount of conscripts and mind your own business' type. Didnt care a whit who or how you ran your city so long as the Mongol 'state' was getting what it wanted. If you created trouble ( eg: formented nationalist or religious fervor), they came by, bulldozed you, buried alive everything that lives (including cats and dogs) to serve it as an example to others and went away. Centuries later, this is how the Ottomans kept the peace in middle east (only ones to do so in the last 2300 years): They didnt care if you were Shia or Sunni, alevi or Alawite, pay your taxes, pay your conscripts and dont make trouble. When you did make trouble of any kind, they pulverized you to dust. Sardar Patel was a modern version of the same mentality. Obviously, he acted more like the Chinese Grandees who carried out & suggested policies to the emperors of China (who, for the most part, stuck to their pleasures and let the Grandees carry out the policies) because he didnt have absolute power.
saneindian Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Pertinent to provide a few details. The meeting was informed that the whole project, to be developed on public private partnership model, will cost around Rs2,500 crore. It will include the Statue of Unity, and also besides a bridge, a road connecting the memorial with Kevadia, convention centre, garden, amusement park, hotel, among others. In a bid to develop both sides of Narmada river from Sardar Sarovar dam to Bharuch as a tourist destination, the work order for construction of Garudeshwar weir has already been given. In addition, steps will be taken for tourism facilities on the sea coast. http://www.dnaindia.com/india/1699760/report-gujarat-s-statue-of-unity-to-cost-a-whopping-rs2500-crore Few key things: - PPP partnership, so 2500 cr is not entirely govt money, major share comes from private partnership - Spend of 2500 crs includes everything- statue, memorial, parks, hotels, convention center and the infra - Closer to the Sardar Sarovar dam with plans to develop the area as a tourism destination, so it will be a source of revenue for the govt as well Read further details here http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-08-22/ahmedabad/33321734_1_tallest-statue-narmada-dam-narmada-river But obviously how can the Congress party see anyone other than a Nehru-Gandhi getting something which he truly deserves. Also, funny to see a Congress Spokesperson (writer of the blog), taking potshots at the likely spend and reminding of the fiscal deficit of Gujrat. She obviously has no issues on ad spend on Gandhi-Nehru dynasty in last 8-9 years (said to be ovefr 250 cr per year).

The Congressi mouthpiece will obviously take the most negative light to Modi's plans. But it still does not change the fact that Patel was totally anti hinduvta and RSS. If he had his way, every single RSS member would be sitting and rotting in kalapani.
someone Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Well, Nehru did unban RSS and even asked them to participate in the republic parade (26 Jan). So is Nehru wrong and Sarder Patel right? All Congress should quit then.

As you very well know, the d!ck is usually in charge and doesnt always listen to the brain....

Muloghonto Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Well then' date=' maybe Congress should stop these nonsense attacks as they suppose to follow Nehru.[/quote'] Its pretty hard to follow a dead guy.... Congress are just milking names. That gets them a decent chunk of votes.
someone Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Its pretty hard to follow a dead guy.... Congress are just milking names. That gets them a decent chunk of votes. Of course they are frauds. But my point is about their lack of inconsistency in this matter.

The funny part is Gujrat Congress has always been demanding a statue of Patel outside Ahmedabad's Sardar Patel Airport. They in fact criticized Modi for not doing enough for Patel's legacy.
Muloghonto Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 The funny part is Gujrat Congress has always been demanding a statue of Patel outside Ahmedabad's Sardar Patel Airport. They in fact criticized Modi for not doing enough for Patel's legacy. Its called baiting. If he doesnt build a statue...then WTF..he doesnt care about Gujrat's second most prominent son (who really is the most prominent one for me). If he does make one...then he must give bhaashan on how much he loves and respects Patel, at which point, jump on him for daring to link Patel with his..which is BJP..which is RSS ideology/agenda. Ofcourse, Modi is an ullu-ka-pattha, couldnt resist making nice political soundbytes about himself and his love for Patel, admiring the man, saying how much he wishes to be like him, etc. trying to cash in on Patel's image as a strong leader (the only thing Modi and Patel share is the strong personality. Too bad Modi is 1/10000th the brain wattage of Patel), at which point, the Congress panced him. Serves him right, too. Classic ambush of the most assinine nature. Trouble is, Indian media has the attention span of a fly when it comes to anything older than 10 years. They instantly go into the 'this is mummy-papa ancient malgoodi days time. taa nana na nananana' and lose all congitive processes. So this type of grade school ambush goes unpicked.

Became one of the most controversial CM of this country, most bashed and most rediculed. He was totally untouchable for media 10 years back. Now he is countries most popular politician and arguably currently most loved also. There are literally bhakts of this chai wallah. Single handedly he has thrown away the Advani era of BJP. I am not sure even Outty, MTC or DM will use this term for him. If he is ullu ka pattha then who is a clever , shrude and cunning a**, Rahul Gandhi :haha:

Khalpat Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 :cantstop: So you have doubt about that. Why are so many people defending him? Why is the terminology Modi Bhakth came into existence? Do you think he pays money to Someoine, ChePuDon, Ravishi, AdiB etc. Dude if you want to beat him, defeat him accept the reality. He has made people his fan, due to correct reason or wrong is arguable. We do not see people defending Mamta, Rahul, Mulayam, Karunanidhi right? I have not seen people defending and getting so excited while defending him ever for any politician.

Also, its this divisive nature of his personality and the fact that he's creating a personality cult around himself that will prevent him from being the PM IMO.

Rahul does not enter the picture, he is the Pamela Anderson of the show. Entirely there for his looks..ehm...charm..

The only guy who gets defended is the guy who nutbar hinduvtas follow from the nutbar hinduvta following. Now, its Modi. Before it was Advani. Congress supporters are not nutbars. They are either dogmatic fools ( my great grandpa voted kaangress, my daddy voted kaangress so i vote kaangress) or despairing cynics who choose the best of the bad lot. Btw, i doubt this ullu has as much chamchaagiri as Jayalalitha has.
Crookbond Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Btw, if you call Modi "Ullu Ka Pattjha" does it by default in itself make the assumption that you would call Rahul Gandhi as "shrude" ? :hmmmm:

Yup he is the most hated that is non arguable, its a fact that he has to notice and move forward with his next move. He is the most loved that you guys will have to notice and plan your strategies on online forums in that way. You do not accept the fact he will win. Old saying, "Dushman ko kam mat aankna".
