vvvslaxman Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Not nice from an hitherto under-performing player. If only Sammy has to decide to do that he woulda needed a 40 page notebook after his 100 :cantstop:

Nova Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 whats the background story?? http://www.cricketzone.com/content/article/vivian-richards-blasts-woeful-west-indies-says-denesh-ramdin-has-deteriorated-/sid100000158/ Vivian Richards blasts woeful West Indies, says Denesh Ramdin has 'deteriorated' Denesh Ramdin averages 22.28 after 44 Tests By Indo Asian News Service (IANS) Tue, May 29, 2012 West Indies' legendary captain Sir Vivian Richards has blasted the Caribbean side's disastrous batting in the second Test at Trent Bridge against England and has criticised newly recalled wicketkeeper batsman Denesh Ramdin, saying the player has "deteriorated in such a big way". The West Indies capitulated meekly in their second innings, tottering at 61 for six in their second innings at the end of the third day's play Sunday. "It was immature and these individuals need to think about the requirements to play at this level," Sir Viv told BBC's Test Match Special. "They must be given credit for the way they bowled, but batters did not come to party and need to sort their heads out where shot selection is concerned." Not for the first time in the series, the West Indies' top order collapsed after England had secured a 58-run first innings lead at tea. The tourists were 14 for two inside the first half hour with both openers Adrian Barath (7) and Kieran Powell (1) dismissed. Stylish left-hander Darren Bravo scored 22 and the usually dependable Shivnarine Chanderpaul fell to a loose stroke in the deep, to leave the Windies innings in tatters. Ramdin, recalled after two years in the wilderness, managed just six while Kirk Edwards failed to score for the second time in four Test innings on tour. "Ramdin just looks out of sorts. When he first came into the game, I felt he was a huge prospect," pointed out Sir Viv, who never lost a series as captain. "For some reason, he has deteriorated in such a big way. Just the way he is walking back, he looks like a totally lost guy." Ramdin averages 22.28 after 44 Tests. Sir Viv, who scored 8,540 from 121 Tests at an average of 50, said Edwards' technique was lacking. "The flaws in Kirk Edwards's technique, he's looking all over the place. His confidence has been totally destroyed," he said.
vamos_rafa Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 It's got to do with the criticism that viv Richards had made regarding dinesh Ramdin. He has said that when Dinesh had made his debut a few years back, he looked test quality material but now he seems to have regressed. Foolish on dinesh to have given this kind of a reply. viv wants the betterment of WI cricket and has all the rights of criticizing him. and it was not mindless critique as well. Ramdin did look out of sorts in the series.
Nova Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 King Viv can say whatever he wants. Ramdin kis jhaad ki patti hai..
daryl1985 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 What a clown Ramdin is. He scored a century in a dead test against half of England's 1st choice attack. Viv Richards' comments about him were not particularly nasty.
The Outsider Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Good on Ramdin to put Richards in his place - in today's era Richards would have struggled to average even 20 and he is criticizing great players like Ramdin who not only average much more than that but also keeps wickets.
Dravid_TheWall Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Very silly by Ramdin. He made himself look stupid after playing so well for once.
Stuge Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Good on Ramdin to put Richards in his place - in today's era Richards would have struggled to average even 20 and he is criticizing great players like Ramdin who not only average much more than that but also keeps wickets. Good on you to keep the trolling going :hysterical::hysterical: IS he Gangla in the making ?He gotta take out his shirt if he scores 200 someday .
1983-2011 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Good on Ramdin to put Richards in his place - in today's era Richards would have struggled to average even 20 and he is criticizing great players like Ramdin who not only average much more than that but also keeps wickets. :winky:

Ramdin isn't an idiot he knows what he was doing, there might have been off-the-record things being said to him from Richards, things might have got personal, simply we don't know...speculation is all we got left.
the_indian_fan Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 hope gambhir does the same thing to dhoni and brings up a msg saying - "yeah dhoni talk nah"
1983-2011 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 hope gambhir does the same thing to dhoni and brings up a msg saying - "yeah dhoni talk nah" what has dhoni said about gambhir
Needforspeed Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 what has dhoni said about gambhir Yeah! I think its the other wary round. Dhoni should be holding the sheet of paper. :hysterical:
the_indian_fan Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 what has dhoni said about gambhir dhoni forced selectors into removing gambhir from vice-captaincy as he doesnt want any threats to his captaincy dhoni took the credit for the wc final win despite the fact that gambhir played a million times better innings making 97 when sehwag & tendulkar had got out early and we were struggling at 30/2
the_indian_fan Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Dhoni in test as a batsmen is  well said. wriddhiman saha/dinesh kartik/naman ojha would be better options for tests. dhoni cant score a run in tests unless its a 500+ pitch
ganeshran Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 needless from Ramdin. Could have performed consistently before rebuking Viv
