Vilander
Dhoni does not have a special weakness against short stuff or moving ball. He scored a 90 odd in seaming track in SA last year, he scored well in ODI's as well there. He failed in Eng and Aus, but did better than everyone other than Dravid in Eng. I dont think he has a specific problem against pace bowling, he just does what best he can with his limited technique. Link to comment
Vilander
I know he had problems against short ball but he still scored runs on pitches against better bowlers ' date='Dhoni seems at sea on helpful conditions. Also his fc average of 45 is very good considering the [b']standards then. standards were lower. He has an okayish in SA in tests. Infact he averages more than Dravid there!! that does not make him a better player than RD by any stretch of imagination. He almost saved us the Durban test in 2006 where he scored some 40 odd with the tail by hitting 10 4's. The place where he has struggled big time in tests is Oz. But, I don't know what to say when you compare Ramdin with him. Link to comment

Pls check out one of the earlier posts in the thread listing Dhoni's match-winning performances and plenty of those performances came in mid 2000s, and not since 2010 which you are stating. Vilander
Is Dhoni one of the better players of the moving ball? No. whats your point ? he is not the worst player also, he manages ok, and is brilliant in conditions that do not aid lateral movement. So he is better than bevan. Link to comment
