ICC pushes again for DRS, BCCI says no

If I am not mistaken the BCCI are ok with Hot Spot. Their problem is with the following: a. xEye b. if DRS is made mandatory, who pays for it?
This is the main issue and this is why the others are getting so agitated. Directly or indirectly (thru broadcasters or Sponsors), BCCI will pay. You think other boards really care about India not using DRS for their series. The real issue is that they want India to pay for it.

It seems to me that ICC only exists to try to convince BCCI for accepting DRS. They seem to have no other activity.
Lol yes, personally I hold the views reflected very well by Martin Crowe as well.Greig, LogRAT , Nicklaus are just dogs barking at the elephant.I am not a big fan of BCCI but on this one they are 100% right

Its sad to see DRS discussions dominating Cricinfo and other websites these days. If DRS non implementation is the single biggest crisis facing cricket, then I'd say the game is in pretty good shape, which unfortunately is not. There are many other issues which require attention.

Imagine if the DRS becomes mandatory, the opportunity to make money is endless from Tests, ODIs, IPL and all other televised cricket. And the only entity able fund all this is BCCI. Everyone wants a piece of cake. BCCI are idiots though. I would love it if someone from India came with a similar system and BCCI choose back it.

I don't quite understand this, can anyone elaborate on this please? Even if BCCI accepts DRS on its current form, how is it going to fund it for matches not involving India?

Even if BCCI accepts DRS on its current form, how is it going to fund it for matches not involving India?[/quote'] Well look at it the other way around. Two big supporters of DRS, Pakistan and SL, didn't have it for their entire tour mainly due to cost implications. ICC keep barking on about how they will find a way to fund it so it can be used for all matches but yet not coughing up for now over 2 years. Basically if BCCI come on board, then ICC hope to find a global sponsor for DRS underpinned by the Indian TV market. Though I think that's unlikely to happen, because for one thing in hell for sure BCCI is good at, it is protecting the Indian TV market so they can leech it dry all for themselves.
