Dravid_TheWall Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 :omg: never thought abt this ban sreesanth for life for lying and hiding facts cos of which innocent cricketer got banned and got fined heavily :(( i think cos of this ban bhajji's bowling regressed like dtw its mental thing u need support and all other crap :orderorder: :hysterical:
Trichromatic Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Basically no one truly knows what happened but Sree himself. Sree did not deny crying. Read post # 1535.
Cricket Tragic Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 It was not just a slap but something like a punch," he said.
vamos_rafa Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 :finger: He will play till his 37 you watch B-> You know, when I was a kid, I used to fight for Sachin, just like you do now. I still am and would always be a Sachin fan, but I handle jibes against Sach in a more mature way. And when I look back to the things I used to do, as a kid, though kiddish, but, I, atleast have the satisfaction, that I invested my energy in the right player. i have no problem with you having Sreesanth as your favourite, as it's one's own choice, but be a bit more realistic and don't blurt out the same things again and again.
Dravid_TheWall Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Read post # 1535. So? He also said that it didn't happen afterwards. My gut feeling is it did happen, that Bhajji attacked him from behind and by surprise. Sree did a u turn after because maybe he has made up with Bhajji and Bhajji probably said don't damage my reputation further. Or it could be emotional tears due to the match which is what he clarified it as later. There is no video which shows the "slap."

It can be done. Especially if you rely on skill rather than outright pace. Sree also has had some freakish injuries to his bowling muscles are well rested. Also it's a personal choice who you follow. I could like Sachin and what? Where is the fun except watching him chase milestones? He is a boring player since 2003 pretty much. Lara had flair and he my fav at young age. I have a lot of fav players but I only liked Sachin due to being Indian. But I don't enjoy watching him tbh.

So this means Harbhajan was innocent and his ban was unfair. Sreesanth deliberately didn't tell this earlier and enjoyed Bhajji's ban. He even cried in front of camera to make this look real. Was it a drama, DTW? Poor Bhajji remained silent and didn't appeal against ban. If Bhajji didn't slap him, then Sreesanth should apologize to him. Even Lalit Modi lied Sounds like big conspiracy against Bhajji.

Not being injured is also a requirement for a player to be considered a good player. Turning up once in a year for a couple of games at his age is not done. Fitness is an essential feature of a player's caliber. Shoaib Akthar may never be considered an ATG because he was rarely fit. Sreesanth has been out of the team more than he has been in it. I totally dislike it when people make fun of Sreesanth because I actually support the guy and I think he has technique on his side to run thru sides. But he lacks in the more rigorous discipline that differentiates between just-good and better (or even great) Test cricketers - the mental discipline and the way to manage pressure. Do you really think he can make it as a good Test cricketer without these qualities? He actually has failed on these. I agree he has been short changed by Dhoni the skipper but if he is performing consistently and had the psychological discipline then it wouldn't give Dhoni a chance to treat him differently. I am not saying he must lose his individuality but he must channel his energy smartly. And so should you when it comes to bigging him up
CG Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: @ people who always fall in dtw trap.

But I do think icf fans have double standards. Ryan Harris is rarely fit and injury prone, yet he is seen as one of the best bowlers currently. Shoaib was very good but yes he lacked fitness and that is certainly a criteria. But you can't dispute his record no matter how long he was on the treatment table. I think Sree can manage pressure easily. I think if he was given backing early in his career, he would have excelled in all 3 formats. He is the kind of player that thrives on support but sadly he does lack determination if he doesn't have support. Maybe determination is the wrong word but he becomes easily distracted due to many areas of interest. I do think if he is given a proper run, he will be a good test bowler for us. I have faith. He has the skills, needs real support from his captain.

I haven't come across anyone who considers Shoaib as an ATG...maybe the occasional delusional Paki fan. Yes I have come across many people who consider Shoaib coulda been an ATG if not for his fitness (and rightly so). But as I mentioned in my previous post that being fit enough to play Test cricket consistently for stretched periods of time is a necessary attribute to be considered better than good.

Dravid_TheWall Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 S Sreesanth resumes training By CricketCountry Staff New Delhi: Jul 8, 2012 S Sreesanth, who had sustained a toe-injury, is out of his crutches and has resumed training on Sunday. "Its gr8 to let u all know..tht iam out of crutches nd ve startd my training too.. Feelg gr8.. Sunday is a funday nd compete rest..(sic)" the temperamental pacer tweeted. Earlier, the maverick speedster had said he expects to return to full fitness by January 2013. "I am not in a hurry," he said about his comeback plans. Sreesanth hopes to actively start practicing in four months time. Sreesanth had undergone surgeries on both his toes a few months back which forced him to sit out of the game. http://www.cricketcountry.com/cricket-articles/S-Sreesanth-resumes-training/16123

Akhtar averaged about 25 I think. Sreesanth averages 37. And even with those 2 bowlers, there will be/was a limit. Harris was not picked for ODIs inspite of his great record and won't be picked even for tests if he continues to get injured.

Santh's ODI SR is one of the best at least for Indians yet people question his ODI spot. This negative mindset that he leaks runs is the reason we struggle with ODI bowling. You need one wicket taker. That average in tests will hopefully go down to late 20's when he is back. Unlike Ishant he hasn't played like 50 tests so he should be able to recover it a little.

Also lacks the ability to be calm and think on his feet. Once he loses it, he loses it badly.
