Crookbond Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 This is not about Ganguly vs Dravid but Ganguly vs the worst performing Indian batsman in that period. Looking at the way Ganguly was batting then and his stats (which compare well with the others), why do people find it so hilarious when he says that he could have played on? Could's and would's don't count do they? I think people have mixed feelings about it specially his performance in all the IPLs. Also, you need to know that there are enough Ganguly fanatics out there. The people who find it "hilarious" are just getting their own back.
Tiger-Don Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Do you know if Pune has contacted Pont? no.....but they should :desiman:

What he does in a bunch of exhibition games don't matter. Yeah, there are Ganguly fanatics just like there are Sehwag and Dravid fanatics. What a shock! I don't see the same level of crap being posted about them because of their fans. Btw, before the WC, there were fanatics who wanted some player's mother to die so that he misses the tournament. So I guess you're one of those kids "getting their own back" because a Ganguly fan said something against your idol.

You made a general comment ("People losing senses") I made a general answer. So, based on past series averages - Gavaskar/Bradman/Dravid should've never retired then. Do we see them coming out and making these statements? Yeah, there are Ganguly fanatics just like there are Sehwag and Dravid fanatics. What a shock! AFAIK, my idol never played cricket and isn't even alive. If he is, please mail me the address I would love to meet him

Crookbond Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 That question is bugging me too. CT - Mentioned that twice. I really don't know who my idol is. Also, IDK since when one starts taking comments in jest too seriously. :dontknow: Even if I have a idol - I don't do idol worship. I would love do immerse the Ganesh idol in the sea during Ganesh Chaturthi though and dancing to it though.
Crookbond Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 ^ I'm only responsible for what I say NOT for what you understand. :--D
pensionplan Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 After that dismal SL series, it was a good time for selectors to look past Ganguly and consider other options given they have SRT, VVS and RD already in there. Too bad, Ganguly still regrets his decision to retire.
