Trichromatic Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Theres no way England management will allow KP to dictate terms or complain about the schedule when during a planned break he goes and plays IPL. If he came to me and complained Id say ok Kev, you give up IPL and then in turn we'll rest you from a few ODI's I foresea him having a right tantrum and quiting England all together before too long. Too bad he doesn't has enough to allow him to dictate terms
Ultimate_Game Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 ^^^^ :hysterical: I don't think ECB and English cricket can ever live Allen Sanford incident down :haha:
Feed Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Pietersen return 'always welcome' Selector Geoff Miller opens the door for Kevin Pietersen to return to limited-overs cricket with England. More... Kevin Pietersen limited-overs England return 'always welcome' England selector Geoff Miller has welcomed the possibility of Kevin Pietersen returning to international limited-overs cricket. Pietersen hinted on Friday that talks had begun which could see him reverse his decision to quit the short forms of the game. "Kevin is always welcome in the England side," Miller told BBC Radio 5 live. "He is a quality, talented international cricketer and you want your best players representing you." “ Our changing room is very good and it's a very pleasant place to be and [changing his mind] wouldn't be a problem whatsoever ” Geoff Miller England selector After hitting a double century for Surrey against Lancashire on Friday, Pietersen commented: "I've said before that, if the schedule was right, I would love to play for another three or four years in all forms of cricket. "But the schedule is a nightmare. I hope something can be sorted out." BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew said Pietersen would have to "prove he is committed" to representing his country in all forms of the game if a return is to be considered by the England and Wales Cricket Board and England coach Andy Flower. And Miller said it is a prerequisite that Pietersen be prepared to meet the governing body's playing demands, but does not think a U-turn from the Surrey batsman would be a problem for other England players. "We can't just look at the World Cup, we have to look further ahead and make sure we can plan and manage players' workloads, but he has to make himself available for how England want him to perform for us," he added. "Our changing room is very good and it's a very pleasant place to be and [changing his mind] wouldn't be a problem whatsoever. "The discussions are not to do with me and Kevin Pietersen, my job is to select the side from people available. Those discussions are between the ECB and the players [and] are private." When asked about the prospect of Pietersen returning, Flower told the Mail on Sunday: "As things stand at the moment, no, there isn't [any chance]. "The situation is the same as it was when he first approached us. The ECB are determined to protect all three formats of the game and part of that is not setting a precedent of allowing players to retire from one-day cricket alone."
MCcricket Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The English team are riding a bit on a high as they beat Australia in ODI'S, ONCE THEY START LOOSING AGAIN, IT WILL BE HARD,I AM NOT A BIG FAN OF THIS FLOWER REMEMBER WHEN HE TOURED INDIA LOL.The English team is not even half as strong as results show, they have been lucky also Australia has multiple issues and they will whip their asses again once it is sorted.
Trichromatic Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 they have been lucky also Australia has multiple issues and they will whip their asses again once it is sorted. I do agree though that the ODI side isnt as good as whats been made out, to be honest weve played 3 poor ODI sides in Australia, West Indies and Pakistan, non of which performed anywhere near there best, also the 2 ball rule has really worked in Englands favour.
maverick451 Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 Kevin Pietersen to demand open IPL window to play in all formats for England again Kevin Pietersen wants to be given permission to miss Test matches so that he can play in the Indian Premier League as a condition of returning to play for England in all formats of the game. maverick451 Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 I think he's in danger of being thrown out the England side altogether. Andy flower wont stand for that sort of nonsense
Needforspeed Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I think he's in danger of being thrown out the England side altogether. Andy flower wont stand for that sort of nonsense Forget Flower. The entire cricket fraternity including fans and administrators in England hate BCCI and IPL.
deathmonger Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I think he's in danger of being thrown out the England side altogether. Andy flower wont stand for that sort of nonsense team will become weak. already there is a huge hole in no 6 position (bopara/morgan one)
achilles Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 More than anyone, it is ECB's loss. KP will find leagues to play in all around the world. But England will not find another Kevin Pietersen.
maverick451 Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 Forget Flower. The entire cricket fraternity including fans and administrators in England hate BCCI and IPL. Would the BCCI allow their stars to miss test matches in order to play English t20? Its more a player power thing rather than a hate of india etc It wouldnt matter whether it was ipl or big bash or whatever, England wont allow there players to pick and chose which game they play and which they dont. From a personal view point im a bit pissed of at KP because in ODI cricket he was been rubbish for 2 years and the team has stuck by him, now as soon as he came back into form he starts making silly demands.
