I think India should have played atleast 5 T20s in SL. That would have helped us a lot for the T20 WC. Instead we are playing 5 50 over matches in T20 WC conditions. Or have we already given up on the T20 WC?

Playing T20s in SL wont be meaningfull for Indian players as our players will not have any motivation to perform there, as SLPL aint for Indians. Instead playing 50 over matches in those situations will give Indian players more time to adopt & selection body can really experiment with more irregular/new players in the squad.

The ODIs played between August 28 and September 3 will begin at 6pm local time, and end at 1.45am the following morning. The Twenty20s that follow are set to begin at 8pm and end at 11.

Epic fail from Marsh. He is having a whinge about matches finishing at 1.45 PM. That it can affect a batsman having to face 150 kmph deliveries while feeling sleepy. Really? Are we all from Mars or Jupiter that most often we are faced with situations when we are required to slog out through the night, and most often login the next day at 9 AM as well? Come on, man up. Also funny how he talks about just batsman, conveniently forgetting the bowler is also a human, and lol, who's this phaasth bowler capable of sending down 150 kmph deliveries in Pakistan team at the moment? And that too on a pitch like Dubai and in such hot weather? I can distinctly remember ODI matches finishing well past midnight in India. These buggers get paid gazillions to play cricket on the ground and not on playstations. They can doze off during the day and play at night. How come they are able to cope when they travel half way around the world to Ingerland and play when its night in Australia?

Cricket Australia (CA) chief executive James Sutherland has said Australia will 'need to adjust to' the conditions in the UAE for their upcoming series against Pakistan, but the required adjustment will not be 'that significant'. Australia are set to play three Twenty20s and three ODIs in the UAE in in August and September, with the matches beginning in the late evening to avoid the worst of the daytime heat. The heat and the decision to start the one-dayers at 6pm - meaning the scheduled finish is 1.45am - continue to be an issue with the Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) though. "It'll be hot, but the sun's not going to be shining and that's probably the really important factor there," Sutherland told AAP. "In terms of the hours, it's not ideal but at the same time it's just an adjustment that the players will need to [make]. It's the same for both teams. "There are many people in the world who work different hours and these will be different hours for our players, unconventional hours for cricket perhaps. But the game's only going a couple of hours later than it would ordinarily, so I'm not sure that adjustment is really that significant." CA officials will visit the UAE next week, to assess the conditions. There had been much debate over the actual make-up of the series, which is a 'home' series for Pakistan. The ACA had expressed its concerns about playing ODIs in such hot weather, prompting the series to be changed to a six-match Twenty20 affair, which was approved by the ICC in June. However, the PCB then approached the Australian board, putting forward a request to review the composition of the series once again. Michael Hussey will return in both formats, having missed the tour of England due to the premature birth of his child, and Peter Forrest has been dropped. The selectors have also decided to rest Shane Watson and Ben Hilfenhaus from the one-day portion of the trip - the same squad has been named for the one-off ODI against Afghanistan - and they have deemed that Pat Cummins will be fit enough to take part in the three T20s despite his early exit from the England tour with a side strain. David Warner will be Michael Clarke's vice-captain for the three ODIs, which will start at 6pm local time to avoid the extreme daytime heat, and the series will also provide an opportunity for Ferguson to resume his international career. "The ODI squad has a strong development aspect to it," Inverarity said. "Shane Watson and Ben Hilfenhaus have not been included and Brett Lee has retired. This will provide development opportunities for others and allow Shane and Ben to complete a more thorough strength and conditioning program before embarking on a very demanding schedule. "Callum Ferguson played very well at times for the Australian ODI team in 2009 before a serious knee injury halted his progress at international level. The NSP is keen to facilitate Callum's return to consistent good form and has included him in the squad and anticipates that he will benefit greatly from being in the team environment and any opportunities that may come his way. "Michael Hussey's return to the fold in both squads will be welcomed.
