He will equal it at Headingley and what a fitting way to top the chart at Lords. With age on his side (31) he can easily surpass the 100 mark. Most players don't get a chance to play 100 tests and he is in all likely hood going to captain 100+ tests. :hatsoff:

Cricket Tragic Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I can see Mohammad Hafeez breaking this record. From Hussain pretending to not know his name to now, Smith has come a long way. Not a great captain tactically but someone who leads from the front.

I remember the "war of words" before the Australia tour in 2006. I guess they lost the series 3-0? Alan Donald I remember was as slow as Vinay Kumar in that series.

Mixed up both those. :) I remember Gary Kirsten getting OUT on a full toss LBW (of McGrath?) in the first Test match as well. Donald was really a shadow of himself there.

When they beat India he was going gaga about how India are not good enough to be #1 and stuffs. But now he's kept a mum. Hid behaviours can not be predicted at times. But, he has been a great leader from the front. As much as Gibbs was instrumental in chasing that mammoth 434, he was the one who really set the ball rolling with his assault initially. Also, the good thing has been that he has been persisted with as a captain by SA.

Old guy Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 with kirsten there for tactics this is perfect combination yes he made mistakes but still a really good captain and knows limitations and strengths of his teams and has always gave his 100 percent! :) hope he scores another hundred at lords :D
