ganeshran
They're intimidating though. 7 books at 900+ page each I think. They are big books but very easy to read. The language isnt hard and the POV narration from different characters breaks up the story neatly into chunks. I recommend watching the TV series first as a lot of the background becomes clear and its easier to appreciate the books better.
Sachin=GOD
The show is good (some of the actors I felt are not that good)' date=' but the books are really awesome.[/quote'] I have been wanting to read the books but now that I have started watching the show, I will wait for the entire show to end before starting with the books otherwise the suspense of this outstanding show will be finished for me. Also, out of the 7 books planned for this series, only 5 have come out till now so I'll wait till all 7 have come out and the read the entire series in one go. Sachin=GOD
if anyone wants I have an ebook that has all 5 books in the series in one book and I can provide a link to that ..................only thing is, that book has over 4600 pages so start reading when you have LOTS & LOTS of time :P

Why not start reading the first 2 books now and the third after season comes? The amount of history that GRRM has weaved behind the series is truly fascinating. After starting to read the books, the gaps in the series are filled in a much better way.

Also, I have a long list of books I am currently reading/have to read so I'll finish those first.

Sooda
^Ha. Well I tend to watch these shows with the better half, and would rather not spend half the time forwarding through indecent scenes

The bloodshed are gore are more difficult to watch if you are watching with your partner.
bulbul
Watched 6 episodes so far in this season :two_thumbs_up: but as i already read books, no suspense. Jaime FTW.

ganeshran
The way Jaime Lannister's character has been handled this season is pure genius by GRRM. One can almost feel sorry for him.

One can almost feel sorry for him. his character is developed very well in the 3rd and 4th books but as has happened throughout the series, whenever a character is added with Brienne, it becomes boring - the same happened with Jamie in the 5th book. Sachin=GOD
Just finished watching season 3. It was quite brilliant. When I watched seasons 1 and 2 I hadn't read the books but before watching this season I had read all 5 books and now I realize that it was a HUGE mistake as it kills all the suspense of this magnificent show :( Under no circumstances am I going to read books 6 & 7 before watching those seasons... bulbul
yaar saara suspense khatam ho gaya show ka - it was like watching a repeat telecast :wall: But that's the dilemma if you watched complete show then you cannot read the book. I have yet to watch Red wedding episode , but in book it happened in a flash , just a page back no clue whats going to happen next.
