Martin Crowe wasn't even that great a odi batsman so not sure how successful he would be at T20s. Crowe had a great 92 world cup and just like Greatbatch that tourney defined him as a batsman and a captain' date=' but other than that tourney he wasn't top ofthe danger-men in odis. He wasn't the sort of plater who could take the game away from you. He was a very ood batsman but IMO even someone like Aravinda De Silva was better than him in shorter formats and would have made much more of an impact in T20s.[/quote'] Martin Crowe was one of the best ODI batsmen of his time along with Richards and Dean Jones.

Well he definitely wasn't better than Dean Jones and Richards. Plus he wasn't as destructive as Lloyd. In the following team lineup it's tough to make room for Martin Crowe. I can't replace Lamb with him as Lamb had a knack for pulling some great chases in his time, e.g., 18 runs off Bruce Reid's last over or the win against WI in 87 world cup where all seemed lost for England and this quality would come more than handy in T20s. Crowe was never that destructive as others and in fact even Aravinda would be a better batsman in T20s. As for a batsman who could find gaps and place the ball Zaheer Abbas is already in the mix along with Lloyd and to me they were better batsmen than Crowe.
