It is being speculated that they will form a political party. Hope that they form the party. At least I would be able to visualize my dream of seeing a political party which is non-corrupt non-votebank based secular honest and just political party. I have saying about such a national party and I definitely would vote and most youth would do if such a political party is formed. However, it is not easy to in as Loksatta Party in AP, Manpreet Singh Badal in Punjab etc. have proved in the past. But at least there is a chance to change the murky waters of Indian politics and social system. Nothing to lose for the common people. Let the experiment begin and more and more people come out to vote especially the youngsters. The failure of Anna Hazare's movement(s) is not Congress(or BJP) success, it is failure of Indian citizens...thats the way I see it anyway.

All the lazy bones including me can at least stop the so called lack of options and only keep on criticizing. It is definitely a failure of the Indian citizens.

It is their arrogance and stubborn attitude that has led them down. They took the support of the people for granted and started meddling in issues which were beyond the mandate given to them by the people of India (i.e. to fight for the creation of a strong anti corruption body). As for the people's support - if it were not for the support then do you really think this pack of arrogant jokers (except Anna) would have achieved so much in such a short time?

We have thousands of monsters anyways. What do we have to lose? At best, we will just have one more monster added to the thousands of other monsters. If it fails, we will not lose anything. But if it succeeds, it might clean up the political system. So, it is only beneficial to Indian masses a whole. There is nothing more to lose for sure.

Several news channels are running the voting on whether Team Anna should form political party and almost 95% voters are SMSing "yes" on the channels. On Zeenews website, the poll is showing 98% yes votes supporting a political party by Team Anna. NDTV (the supposedly Congress vehicle as alleged by many) is also showing nearly 80% supporting Anna joining politics. Their question is a bit twisted to be honest as Anna said he will not enter politics himself if possible but only will select non-corrupt and good candidates. So, NDTV being a Congress vehicle has perhaps twisted the question from what I can see to show him in a bit of negative light. Yet, there is nearly 80% positive votes. India Against Corruption facebook page also showing most positive votes for Team Anna providing a political alternative. Even Wall Street Journal is showing more than 80% positive votes for Anna entering politics though the question is again twisted there. Good support from what it seems but then it is not easy to win just from support as many things including caste, region, religion, economic class, money, alcohol etc. influence voting patterns in India. And most of the people voting either on TV or internet are middle class who hardly ever vote that enthusiastically. Hope for the best though it is tough road ahead. They need to plan well even for winning a few seats in 2014. They might try to cleanse the system once they enter it but the toughest job is to enter it while being honest. The first hurdle of getting votes is the toughest one. Many honest people have failed in it. Let us see how they go ahead with their plans. They need to immediately work on grassroots if they plan to even start for 2014. Realistically speaking a national party would take at least 15 years to even grow enough base to become national in a realistic sense. It is not impossible. Parties change and have done so especially regional parties very quickly. But in most cases those parties are ones with massive money power and ability to buy votes directly or indirectly. This will benefit the regional parties which in turn will result in more reliance on narrow minded regional satraps like Mamata, Mayawati, MSY, Karunanidhi etc.

He has mentioned in his party website that they would be happy to place at Anna's disposal the entirety of its learning and efforts as a political party. "We have all traveled this road, in our different and separate ways, for many years now. We can powerfully combine our efforts to build a great India." In a way, they seem to be willing to combine and join hands to make the political system clean and honest. Look at the smaller parties: SP/BSP/DMK/CPI/RJD/TC/NCP etc. We will not be worse off with a new one irrespective of its agenda. They will be at best a smaller party in 2014 unless they can recruit the local god of cricket. Oh wait, he was nominated to Rajya Sabha by INC, so that's not happening :winky:

To hell with Congress or BJP or regional parties. It is not about the immediate results. The whole political and social system is pathetic, corrupt and divisive (votebank based) right now. If nobody takes the step, then it will remain so forever and we will repent in the next 50 years on becoming one of the worst political system ever possible. India anyways has one of the worst political system and if the status quo remains, then it will only become more pathetic. Change is good. What more bad can we achieve from the murky pit of our current political system? Only something good can happen or else we have nothing to lose. Why should be pessimistic from the upfront when we know all the main political parties are corrupt and votebank based. If somebody is trying to change the system it can only be a good thing.

Tomorrow if the Bhushans are elected to the Lok Sabha then will you say that non corrupt persons have been elected even though there are allegations against them in the property case?? what about Kiran Bedi - IIRC there was something about diverting funds to her NGO etc. Also, do you honestly think that these people, who have now become so obstinate and arrogant that they have begun to think that they and only they are right, can do good for India?

Political parties we have right now are nothing less than a monster .Don't know which monster you're talking about .Most politicians in India are blood sucking bats . I'm not supporting them to form a political party .They will lose all the support they got till now once they form a political party .

Even if I assume they are corrupt, then what worse will they be compared to our existing politicians and political system which is filled with money and resource sucking leeches? At the worst, we will have another corrupt political party added to the list of thousands of other such parties. At best, we will see some positive change. It is similar to what people say about Barack Obama. Obama might be seen by many in the US as not that great but everybody agree he is not worse than Bush. So, US only gained to some amount even though he might not have been the best alternative. When our political system is already in the deepest of pits, any change can only push it a bit above and move it towards normalcy. Anyways they will not be a huge force in 2014 knowing Indian politics but maybe they might bring something positive. What is there in experimenting if we have nothing to lose? I also do not agree with Team Anna on a lot of fronts and I have been vocal on that at various times but then they cannot be worse than the current political class. So, I don't see anything bad in it even if it only turns out to be an experiment. Anyways, the hegemony of the UPA and NDA must end and some other alternatives tried with. We can only gain as a nation and have nothing to lose out of it.
