Ultimate_Game Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 innings played by Kapil against WI in WI in 83 where he scored 72 off 38 balls when WI had the this attack - Holding, Roberts, Marshall, Davis :omg: Here's the match scorecard... http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64209.html Also, clips from the following Test innings would be quite good to have for Kapil... 126* off 124 against WI in 79 100* off 95 against WI in 83
vvvslaxman Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 It was not shown live i think. That series was Mohinder Amarnath series. 598 runs against 4 great fast bowlers :hatsoff:

Ultimate_Game Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Pity such great innings by Kapil are not available, including his 175* in the 83 WC
vamos_rafa Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I would love to see this Kapil vid. Also, I had one request of mine. does anyone have the inning of Dravid and Sachin from 1st and 2nd inning resp, from the Napier test in 2002? The conditions were really tough then and both played a great inning each.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 the greatest all round performance in the history of ODI cricket, IMO
Ultimate_Game Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 If Kapil had been born today people would have been calling him the best cricketer ever. It's quite unfortunate for Kapil that his best knocks somehow were never recorded, case in point his 175* in the World Cup which was not telecasted or recorded coz BBC was on strike :((
Bdeshpatriot Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Honestly, as a cricket fan, probably kapil's innings of 175 would be the 'greatest under pressure' because of the match situation, and also scoring in those days such individual scores werent the norm makes this innings all the more special....really a pity that this innings hasnt got even any clippings...aren't there even any pics of that innings?....now that would be really pathetic to say the least...

Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 dinda would have been devastating in this match. its unfortunate that he was born in the wrong era.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 dinda would have been devastating in this match. its unfortunate that he was born in the wrong era. I am sure he would have bowled faster than Madan Lal and Mohinder Amarnath. That's teh only thing I can say about that piece of jumping shyte.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I am sure he would have bowled faster than Madan Lal and Mohinder Amarnath. That's teh only thing I can say about that piece of jumping shyte. he would fit right in with all the other headbands.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 he would fit right in with all the other headbands. Dil kar raha hai ki uske head-band ki batti bana ke uski b**d mein daal dun. So p*ssed off at him right now

Other one was his century at port elizabeth test.

Other one was his century at port elizabeth test. Kapil had a knack of playing epic/special innings. In fact the no. of such innings played by Kapil would be more than what most of the batsmen have. If Kapil had fulfilled his potential or put a price on his wkt he would have averaged in high 30s or early 40s. The guy was one of the most talented players and the thng with Kapil was he wasn't a weak team or a flat track bully. He generally played his epic knocks against better teams, in tough conditions and in difficult circumstances. Truly a great player :hatsoff:
