ravishingravi Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 While there are aspects that they can do better, I think this is very much needed. There are some tough questions that needs to be asked to media people. Here are some of the more combative interviews S0pgz2biUmE&feature=plcp k3SP2zsaOqA&feature=plcp Tavleen really get annoyed here XPop4VcDiyA
Yoda-esque Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Most of these "journalists" have had a very privileged life and are sons/daughters of politicians/diplomats/bureaucrats and are from the upper crust of the Delhi social scene having studied at Stephens college etc. They look upon the Indian masses as idiots and expect them to defer to their opinions.They have no connection to reality whatsoever and are generally power brokers.

Truth with some very very rare exceptions
ravishingravi Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 S3vX4uMjo1s&feature=relmfu Very good interview in proper hindi

Karan Thappar, Prannoy Roy, Vikram Chandra all came from very privileged backgrounds, who else?
Sachin=GOD Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Karan Thappar' date=' Prannoy Roy, Vikram Chandra all came from very privileged backgrounds, who else?[/quote'] IIRC Barkha Dutt's mother was also an accomplished journalist. Nidhi Razdan's father was also a senior journalist and was also President of the Editors Guild (or some other Board like that). Rajdeep Sardesai's father was an accomplished cricketer.
ravishingravi Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 "Arun Shourie speaks to Madhu Trehan on "being sacrificed" by Ramnath Goenka, fatwas and kaafirs, the Manu Smriti and the need for a Hindu soul with an Islamic body, the culture of appeasement, Modi and the "coup against Vajpayee", BJP not being a particularly religious party and more." Very interesting and intense interview of the great man
ravishingravi Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 89mSWWeo-A0&feature=g-all-u Rare to find an intelligent interview
Lurker Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 62k8ojLS51E&feature=g-all-u What a sharp guy. And what a shame his own party ran him into the ground. One has to wonder if we would ever see another journalist like him. Did some fantastic work and went toe to toe against Indira, Sanjay and Rajeev Gandhi. This man should be treasured. There are some quirks in his interview here, Modi and Faithfreedom thingy for instance, but overall a terrific discussion.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Saw the Karan Thapar interview - it seemed that the sole purpose of the interview was to viciously attack and insult him in an absolutely crass manner.
ravishingravi Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 Saw the Karan Thapar interview - it seemed that the sole purpose of the interview was to viciously attack and insult him in an absolutely crass manner. Agreed
EnterTheVoid Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 S0pgz2biUmE&feature=plcp If hers is the acceptable conduct in an interview, than I was born in Bangladesh.
EnterTheVoid Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Btw, can someone smack that Arnab Goswami idiot please? No idea why he shouts in television debates.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Another point about the Karan Thapar interview - IMO it was a complete failure for the interviewer because instead of revealing things about Karan Thapar and showing him in a negative light (which seemed to be the objective of the interview), it ended up showing him in a better light because of the way he answered (or tried to answer) the humiliating questions. Also saw the Arun Shourie interview - the same interviewer who was insulting Karan Thapar in the earlier interview was polite to a fault here. As for Arun Shourie - I have huge respect for the man, his insights about the topics raised in the interview were brilliant.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 IwxfMmcRX24&feature=relmfu this is a must watch interview.
