jairamesh Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 It was good, probably best in terms watching experience. Wasn't as extravagant or didn't have many dramatic moments compared to Beijing. But well organized, especially access for global audience.

It's not like they could have given $10 billion to IMF to help out other European bankrupt nations.

That is the part of Attitude I am talking about. Also, I have seen SAI (sports authority of India) program very closely. They tried to do what the chinese do to some extent. Get people when young and then ask them to play a game they might excel at. I think we do have selective facilities. All the national games that take place, happen at very good facilities. Once the games are done, every thing is barren. We need to think of using these facilities year around. And may be developing olympians might be that thing. I think we as Indians do have attitude to excel and win. We just need to channel it to sports.

Augurs well for the world of sports. 2) Worst opening and closing ceremony ever. Nothing more than a glorified MTV reality event. 3) Oscar Pistorius 4) US is world's overall sporting powerhouse followed by China and Russia (duh!) 5) US, and NBC, remains retarded as ever. In its primetime no coverage for Wrestling, boxing,rowing, cycling and even tons of Track and field. Concentrates on 2 sets of Misty May-Kerrie Walsh in beach volleyball every freaking round. Retards! 6) Usain Bolt greatest sprinter ever. 7) East European countries, save for Hungary, doing pretty badly. Same for Australia. 8) Olympic umpiring standards falling in most events. 9) Gymnastics losing flair. Gymnasts are more strong and powerful, less lithe and graceful. 10) India's best Olympics. veer Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Michael Phelps remains one of the greats... his races were one of the best to watch.. I realized that track n field 100*4 and 200*4 is not as easy at looks.. baton exchange is damn difficult.. and Usain Bolt + Alison Felix + Jeter and that James guy .. so good to watch. Chinese are dominating more and more sports..... will be beating US soon.

I think the UK's tally was around $20-30 million dollars per gold medal.

If the "Peal Harbor" (I am specifically stating only Pearl Harbor - don't quote me on Hiroshima/Nagasaki) tweets are racist, so were the ones in which we talked sh!t about our beloved neighbor Pakistan. If I'm not wrong, there's some rivalry between Japan and USA women's football team as Japan beat USA on a penalty shootout in the football WC.
