Predator_05
How can this discussion be complete without one Mr.Jimmy Adams :D Want to know his record against India ? 3 matches , 520 runs, Ave - 173.33 , 2 50's and 2 100's ! In that series against India , he was like the rock of Gibraltar. Jimmy Pad-dams. Used to his pads all the time to the spinners Link to comment
Ram
But to score 520 runs in a 3 test match series is just mind-numbing. I remember watching that series live. He was like this stone wall at which you kept throwing tennis balls. Had absolutely no effect on him , the Indian bowling. Link to comment
King
Shiv is the unsung hero of WI cricket during this century. Pity Lara stole all the limelight though. Link to comment
The_Black_Prince
Ravi............in the future Wisden will call the 2007 tour of England "Shiv's tour". Link to comment

The_Black_Prince
OK Bheemie...........but all truly knowledgeable cricket fans know that in the cold and bowler friendly English conditions in May/June, and battling virtually single-handedly against Harmison & Co..........446 runs at a 149 average..........well...it was just Masterly Batting by the Unassuming Shiv Link to comment
The_Black_Prince
BTW.........I hope Sreesaanth & Co put a serious dent in Younis Khan runaway average against India. Link to comment

The_Black_Prince
Bheemie............Shiv is knocking at the door. He was 33 a coupla days ago..........and wants to play for another 5 years. Assuming Windies are still playing test cricket then , I expect Shiv to be right up there. He is already in Windies top ten. Link to comment

Ram
Looks the TBP is extremely happy to see West Indians average massive numbers against India , but doesnt want players from other countries to do so. And i guess we can all understand why he feels that way. Link to comment
The_Black_Prince
Mania.........I am just talking about Shiv. You are the one who added Jimmy Adams. Link to comment
Ram
But didnt you want YK's average to come down ? but was actually quite proud about Shiv's record ? Link to comment
The_Black_Prince
Mania.........YK's average WILL come down. He has a long way to go to equal 18 matches. That is, if the PCB lets him. Link to comment

observer1
I actually am a fan of Shiv C. He has to be the most schizophrenic batsman around - absolute stonewaller in tests, and goes crazy with those leg-side pulls in odis. Most other batsmen play their odi innings slightly faster than tests, but this guy is different. In fact, it would be interesting to see if he has the maximum difference in strike rates between odi and test innings (criteria- a decent number of runs, say 2000 - otherwise people like Agarkar will sour the picture)- one for BB to compute. Tonight. And, if indeed my hunch is proved right, Shiv C can be renamed Schiz C Link to comment
