Dhoni also said conditions in Sri Lanka had changed over the years and there wasn't much help for spinners during India's limited-overs tour to the country in July and August. "We are a team who rely strongly on batting. But some of the top batsmen play the role of part-timers," Dhoni said after arriving in Colombo for the World Twenty20. "In T20 cricket, part-timers are very important. Our part-timers have been doing well. "We also don't have a genuine all-rounder so we have to rely on part-time bowlers who are specialist batsmen. Yuvraj [singh] is one and we have Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina. They will chip in an over each and that makes it a lot easier for us." Dhoni was pleased to have Yuvraj back in the side but refused to comment on his selection soon after recovering from a rare cancer. "It's a selection matter. But I am happy that he is in the team as he is a champion player and a match-winner. He also brings a balance in the team as in T20 cricket you don't include a fifth bowler." India will be based in Colombo during the World Twenty20. Dhoni said playing at one venue would help but also felt that conditions could still change as the tournament progressed. "We won't be travelling much. We can put in a bit more effort in the net session and skill-oriented session. "I feel the conditions in Sri Lanka have changed a lot in the past years. When we came here in 2005, the wickets were different and when we came here last time [in July 2012], the wickets were different. The spinners did not get much help from the pitches in the five ODIs and one T20 we played here in our last tour. "If a ground is hosting many matches, then it will slow down and the spinners will get help. So we have to see the conditions and plan accordingly." © ESPN EMEA Ltd. No better player then a captain to let down his players, having a batting line up with 9 batters, only 2 serious bowlers and unfit Zak, what do Ashwin or more Irfan have to do to shut this guys mouth as they are better all rounders then he is lol, he has no respect or concept that bowlers win you matches, the team selection is very poor and the playing 11 will be poorer. Indian camp needs a captain who has some brains and less ego also hopefully with the Ret!@#$ selectors gone, people will focus on our bowling as it is non existent, we need to play Awana, Shami, Nechim and even Ishant is a better bet then the weak bowling we have,the only bowler who demands a place on merit and performance right now is Ashwin , Irfan as a all rounder, Zak is way below his best probably fading away , what do we have left nothing, no plans, no thought process. I seriously hope to see Shami, Anwar Ahmed, Awana, Abu Nechim,Suyal, Tyagi, Gony whoever is fit and performs well in the season get chances in playing 11 in respective formats.Tired of seeing the tried and tested failures who have no hope of succeeding, VK, PK, Mithun for test is a no no, same with RP, Munaf, no Unadkats or Aravinds lol. Hoping against hope India will win but, who will take wickets or stop runs??,Balaji, Zak, Irfan, Yuvraj, Rohit , lol our captain has no brain to talk of , clearly out of depth as a thinker,it is time he is kicked out to the curb, especially as a test captain as, he clearly has a phobia in batting and captaining out side the sub continent and clearly lacks a brain as well in his choice of players also let Virat or Gautam captain t20 team.

Captaining in IPL is hardly a criteria. Even Kholi wasn't initially captain of RCB this year, and under Kholi's captaincy RCB couldn't even reach the Top 4 :facepalm: India should have 3 captains in each format, and Raina is the ideal guy to take over the T20 reins from Dhoni. Easily India's MVP in T20Is.

Even Kholi wasn't initially captain of RCB this year, and under Kholi's captaincy RCB couldn't even reach the Top 4 :facepalm: India should have 3 captains in each format, and Raina is the ideal guy to take over the T20 reins from Dhoni. We don't need to go by player's performance and hand him over the captaincy. If people look at Kohli as the future captain then lend him the T20 captaincy.

Disgusting to see many belittle the achievements of Dhoni. He was the one who won us the 1st T20 WC. And some one seeing CSK lobby ( even though) as the reason for the whole team's misfortune is puke worthy.

Choose the right player for the right format as well. + Don't overburden your most important player with so much responsibility.
