Cricketics
Messers Ganguly and Sachin screwed it up for us with their "rollicking" starts. Cant be 35 runs in 10 overs , chasing 281. come on marrirs, after a steady p'ship between dravid and gang, we were on our way to victory.. playerz just didn't stick around.. totally agree though that it was very shyt opening p'ship today.. but then when dravid came in and formed p'ship, we were on our way.. You are abs. right on the money on that one. The passion (and the fights) are what makes a DG/Forum. Link to comment

C'tics , when you chase a target like 280 , you want a quick opening partnership , which will act as a buffer for a mini middle order collapse. By scoring 35 runs in 10 overs , what Sachin and Ganguly ensured is that , we had to play TOP cricket for the next 40 overs to win . We couldnt even afford a single mistake. When you skew the probability so badly against your favor , its no wonder we lost. They started slowly in the 2nd odi and picked the pace up later on , but that doesnt quite work out when you bat second, chasing a big score. I have rarely seen teams chasing big totals, make slow steady starts and then go onto win. Link to comment

C'tics, 35 runs in first 10 overs is BLASPHEMY when chasing a 280 total!!! A team can recover from that, but usually will buckle under pressure after that kind of sleepy start. Link to comment
