shortbread
Bhajji might be dropped from Punab team as well at this rate. There's talk of Ambani XI fielding a Ranji team next season. Link to comment
rkt.india
If he'd just picked up around 3 wickets against England' date=' he'd be in Test contention. Currently though, his bowling isn't quite proven in the format. If he could come into the side when Zaheer retires and bat at eight, with Ashwin at nine, that is a formidable lower order. Of course, you do not base your team around having a strong lower order, but it is very nice and helpful when it happens.[/quote'] Irfan has always been a killer in FC cricket but coulnt take wicket against England. BeautifulGame
Point still stands. Test bowlers should really run through some of the weaker Indian domestic line ups' date=' on occasion.[/quote'] Depends on wkt.Just look at the last match played on this wkt http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-domestic-2011/engine/current/match/522986.html This is arguably the most seam friendly wkt in Ranji Link to comment
Trundler27
At this point, Irfan is good enough for our LOI side..... hopefully he doesn't make it to the test team quite yet as that will probably ruin his bowling confidence even for the shorter formats. He can use the ranji games to keep his bowling form going. What about this imtiaz guy from UP? looks like he screwed my beloved delhi team today? Reading the cricinfo blogs there seems to be a fair bit mentioned about his pace and 'incisive' spells..... way to go..... let the phaast tailunt hunters go wild now ;) But honestly it was a great performance in the first ranji game against such a daunting batting line-up. saneindian
As many as 5000 people had taken their seats at the venue before the toss, with many still trying to make their way in. The Ghaziabad Cricket Association did well to have enough police personnel outside the venue, but even those didn’t seem enough to handle the avalanche of people queuing up at the gates the moment it was announced that Delhi were batting. It is not often you witness close to 10,000 fans turning up for a domestic game, or metal detectors and security protocol greeting them. But given the importance of the clash in the build-up to the India-England Test series, the spectator turnout was heartening http://www.wisdenindia.com/cricket-article/buzzing-ghaziabad-welcomes-ranji-stars/33154 Amzing to read that..don't think a domestic match has seen such a huge crowd in recent times barring perhaps the Ranji finals at Mysore a few seasons ago Link to comment
rkt.india
Sanju Samson batted really well & helped Kerala claw out of a hole. Also, it was a pleasure to see a spinner (Gurvinder) flighting the ball Tweeted by Akash Chopra. He is a 19 year old WK/bat..one to keep an eye on Link to comment
India-KXIP fan
^Happy Birthday :) Mandeep to score 100 today. Tiwary threw away wicket, Chand failed as expected, Rahane scored against Railways lol, perfect opportunity to make a statement. Sadly I think Menaria gonna fail today :( Link to comment
saneindian
Pankaj Singh has made a great comeback after injury. 5-er for him, bowled at good speeds around 136-137 in the first 6 overs of his spell with top speeds of 141.3 kph. Swung the ball, hit the deck hard, great to see. Saha too has played a fighting knock. Some lovely cover drives and straight drives. Link to comment
rkt.india
10.25am - Harbhajan wicketless but a satisfied captain Over in Mohali, Harbhajan Singh has bowled 21 overs for no wickets, but he will be pleased as his colleagues have bowled Hyderabad out for 258. Manpreet Gony took four, Amitoze Singh three 10.15am - Saha keeps fighting Under overcast skies, facing the moving ball from the rampant singhs of Rajasthan, Pankaj and Rituraj of Rajasthan, Wriddhiman Saha has launched a calculated assault to reach 55 off 74 to take Bengal to 246 for 8. A timely effort from Saha 10.10am - Kaif hit on the helmet Over in Ghaziabad, Sharda Ugra has just seen Mohammad Kaif being hit in the head by an Ishant Sharma bouncer. Kaif tried to duck under it, but the ball didn't rise. Uttar Pradesh are fighting it out in the tough early-morning conditions, after having bowled the hugely favoured Delhi for 235. She also reports the journalist attendance, now that Sehwag, Gambhir and Kohli are not expected to bat today, has gone down from 100 to 10 10.05am - Sid Talya at Wankhede Nothing overly dramatic in the first half hour of Mumbai v Railways. There’s been one boundary hit this morning, by Abhishek Nayar. Except that Rahane is now batting with a short leg and a leg gully in place. Bodyline? Mumbai 354 for 4 in 96 overs Link to comment
saneindian
RKT is pringle still working with the Rajasthan side? All their seam bowlers look to have better action, better rhythmic action and seem to have definitely added some pace. Aniket Chaudhary barely used to hit 125 last season, he is around 131-132 today morning moving the ball both ways. Link to comment

He is still there. He has worked well with them. Aniket Chaudhary can be very god left arm pacer if a good coach can work with him. He looks as tall as Starc, not as quick, but that can be worked upon with strengthening program. He has an action quite simialr to Trent Boult. Link to comment
India-KXIP fan
Good captaincy from Bhaji, also good 2 catches and economy rate. But the find of the tournament is Amitoze Singh! Batting average 50 and 3 for 33 this innings. Dismissed VVS! A new legend killer is born! :hatsoff: Edit: 2000 (quality) posts :yay: Link to comment
