Old guy
Mohali is one of the bigger cricket grounds in India. wow it looked so small! yes even I was surprised.ball hardly took 2 seconds to reach the boundary yes.. on tv boundaries look much bigger .. no wonder batsmen hit so many sixes :P Link to comment
rkt.india
If people want to see how boundaries are pulled in then watch BBL matches. They have 80-90 meter boundary in general on some of the grounds which they shorten by pulling them in for T20s. You cannot have big boundaries on grounds like Chinnaswamy, Eden, Dharmashala, Firozshah kotla, or Wankhede which are already smaller grounds. Newly made grounds of Nagpur, DY Patil, Pune are bigger. Crookbond
I think that is just a misconception if you had watched recent test at Chinnaswamy which is one of the smallest ground. The difference is not visible on TV but if you visit personally - I felt a 5-10 m difference and considering the already short boundary size that's a lot. Anyways, I hope the grounds which do have longer boundaries continue to do so. Link to comment
Executioner
boundaries look big on TV but in real life they arent that big. This is because of the visual perception what looks like 80m on tv is atually 70m in real life Link to comment
