In every other country and at every other ground they are given a room to watch the cricklet and commentate from. That has been the case for decades. No one felt the need to put that into a contract, because it is bloody obvious, that you need to watch it live. But of course the BCCI being the BCCI thought, ooo we can make lots more money, so lets charge them for the room facilities or make them commentate from Star's TV coverage. Personally I would like ther ecb to stick two fingers up to the BCCI and the ICC and return home. India's cricket establishment is acting terribly and at no other venue in any other country are visiting commentary teams treated so poorly. You should hang your heads in shame at what the BCCI is doing in your names. What are you talking about? Sky or BBC? How can radio commentary be done by Star? For BBC, I agree that BCCI should compromise and forget that fee. If you're talking about Sky, then yeah when they have contract they provide facilities. But no board provides separate facilities for free without a contract. This has been case for decades and it's bloody obvious. Want something from a cricket board, then sign a contract, pay a fee and get it.

They normally have a small comentary room and a rest area, thats it. They have always had that, all over the world for decades. It wont happen, but I hope that the ECB pulls our team out and we go home. Well BBC and BCCI issue has been already resolved. Good for both sides.

As I for one as a long term (45 years) listener to TMS, will be very very unhappy if they have bowed to BCCI pressure and paid this ludicrous fee. As for Sky, when you agree broadcst rights with any other counties body it has always come with space and facilities at the ground to produce the program. All our venues have dedicated media venues to host foreign commentators and they come with broadcsting rights. The BCCI are playing games. They are already the bad boy of the cricketing world over their refusal to adopt electronic measures, now they are even worse. I do not feel I have gone too far in saying that as hosts you should be ashamed. I would be if the ECB treated visitors like this

So, you think ECB doesn't sell broadcast rights and channels don't pay ECB anything at all?

No such denial was issued so I'll trust BCCI gave a correct estimate ; - ) Wobbly - Like many have noted before till recently BBC didn't pay for covering cricket but ECB decided one day to charge them. Was that against the spirit of the game as well? Or did you ungrudgingly accept that as being in accord with the spirit of commerce? Overall an excellent public spectacle for us and as BCCI's cheerleader I am pleased how things have wound up. Look forward to several such moves going forward which will leave Wobbly and our ganga deens indignant. BBC didn't ask for space, it was Sky who asked for space. BBC issue is over anyway.

I've watched plenty of matches at the ground where the TMS team had a full blown presence with several staff members and equipments. Of course they did. 2000 square feet? Can you prove that? The link refers to Sky's demand for 2000 square feet not BBC.

I've watched plenty of matches at the ground where the TMS team had a full blown presence with several staff members and equipments. ICF is only place where BCC has asked for 2000 sq ft space. But like I said, issue is over. There isn't much to discuss about it.
