Sean Bradley Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Has a far better technique than dhoni with the bat, has opened the innings before, can't do worse than dhoni.
yoda Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Agreed as far as batting goes, but his keeping has deteriorated.
Sean Bradley Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Dhoni isn't catching blinders behind the wicket.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 CM Gautam or Uday kaul please. Also throw out Yuvraj and give Rahane a chance.Need to give Ashwin a few more chances. But we need a wrist spinner ASAP.Anyone in the Domestic circuit?all i see are Left arm spinners.
vivek_singh3187 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Uday Kaul , W Saha & Dk...all three have performed well in this Rnji Season so far...going by experience one may go for DK...but for a change one from SAHA & KAUL can be tried.

R.D forever Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Dinesh karthik ll struggle in tests . He plays too many shots and he is impatient.. may suit ODIs and T20s
The Realist Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Dinesh karthik ll struggle in tests . He plays too many shots and he is impatient.. may suit ODIs and T20s Dhobi has always struggled in tests. He can't play any shots and is useless. May suit ODIs only. Fixed.
namasteji1 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Rofl..dinesh karthik? Seriously, comapre the stats and then write.
Number Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I have a feeling that MS may do well as a batsman, once he leaves the captaincy.
kubrickian Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Dinesh Kartik opened in tests in England where there was lots of swing. He and Wasim Jaffer did a great job in 2007 when India won the series if I remember correctly. He was sidelined unfairly IMO. He is more than a capable hitter in ODIs and T20s too and a very effective keeper. I still believe Dhoni is not such a bad batsman and a wicket keeper. He needs to give up captaincy though. Its very tough to keep wickets in tests and also captain the side.
amiret Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Dinesh Karthick was one of the highest run scorers in the 2007 series in England . He was the opener along with wasim jaffer. He scored crucial 60 runs in the 2nd innings in the Lord's test which we saved. He scored 77 runs in the 1st innings of the 2nd test which we won. And he scored 91 runs in the last test which we dominated. Of course he can only be brought back based on current form not based on performances 5 years ago.
