Lurker Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 ..doing self-appraisal and getting prepared for 1 on 1 with Managers/Directors for Bonus for 2012. It is always fun to get on the HR webpage and put forth your "achievements", and obviously we all have done a spectacular job on all the fronts. It is funny how you start with enthusiasm but by the time you have reached 3-4th point you are mentally exhausted and just want it be done with. I mean most of the cynical folks think the ratings are already locked anyway, isnt it? For the Managers and Directors it is the time to start prepping up to read paragraphs of achievements. Overall there is indeed some idea, in most cases, on what a persons rating would be like but still it is interesting to look at self-assessment and how people look at themselves. So how are things looking for you? Bumper Bonus? :clap: Happy to get some? :beee:

And in fact I did get a (reasonable) performance based bonus :) However the review process in our company is poor. I have had two in the three years Ive been here, one a few months after I joined and one this Sept. At least now I have some objectives now to work towards though. My co has gone through a lot of change over the last year and our team has done well to adapt to new systems. Ill admit though that my job is not as demanding as it should be- lets just say I have enough time to browse ICF at work :P and I need more to do. Have asked but if nothing changes soon I need to start looking elsewhere...

Many a companies may not be willing to spend too much money with new system and hence almost happy to keep the work going (or as the acronym goes KTLO - Keeps the Light on) ?

California waale paisa kamaate hain, humein to ghanta milta hai. Also keep an eye out on Shwetabh. This is time when his company ekdam kutte ki tarah paison se muhn bhar deta hai.

I am losing interest in my work and feel I am getting stagnant here. Time to move on.
suraj Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I just loved my current boss' attitude & feedback; he just tells me that he is going to cut through all the BS and honestly tell me things that really matter - what did I end up making - how can i make more and go higher no bull*****er; but I am moving on to new boss

Changed my job last August so hoping to get one next year. When I compare to my bonuses with my brother's who works in a oil company.. i just want to quit working forever. They get bonuses in 4 to 5 figures..

Good Managers are rare so if you have one make sure you learn things from him/her. My current boss is probably one of the best ones I have ever had.

Before this crazy year, I have had jobs for 4 and 3.5 years .. then 1 year, 6 months and currently been here for 4-5 :P
