Ram
Dravid should know better to realize that its the batsman who win odis and not bowlers. What did we see today ? Robin Uthappa , no.7 batsman , wins the match for India. He and Dhoni add 60 runs for the 6th wicket in 6.4 overs. If we had played another bowler instead of Uthappa today , there would have no way we could have won this, no way. Besides , our team has been at its one day best when playing 7 batsman, be it during world cup 2003 time , when Dravid kept or during 2005 , when Pathan was frequently promoted up the order. Please Dravid - No more 5 bowlers bakwaas , especially if our no.7 is going to Agarkar. Link to comment
yoda
If 5 bowler theory is out, what other screwup do you suggest? Give the poor fella a break, will ya? Link to comment
Ram
If 5 bowler theory is out, what other screwup do you suggest? Give the poor fella a break, will ya? Yoda , dont mistake me - I am not trying to pin-point Dravid here. We have seen consistently that many times , its the no.7 batsman that makes the difference in one dayers. Heck , if we had played 7 batsman in the third match we could have won that too. And 5 specialist bowlers does NOT mean the opposing batting line-up will be contained. Almost all the time , one bowler goes for plenty. Link to comment

yoda
another nominee: win toss and follow it up with the appropriate screwup depending on the pitch conditions. Link to comment
coffee_rules
Let me take a stab: - Open the innings with Ganguly and Uthappa - Play RPS instead of Chawla - Play Munaf instead of Zaheer - Get Sachin to play at #4 - Promote himself to #3 - Promote Dhoni over Yuvraj when needing quick runs - The clincher is to play 5 bowlers, but still give bowling to Tendulkar, Yuvraj and Ganguly as it happened here: http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/engvind/engine/match/293077.html http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/engvind/engine/match/258472.html http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/engvind/engine/match/258473.html http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/engvind/engine/match/258474.html Link to comment

Ram
The 4 bowler strategy will work well , ONLY if we get early wickets. If the english openers stay , they will maul the first change bowler , be it Chawla , Powar or Ganguly. Link to comment

observer1
1. inspired team selection: Munaf and Agarkar 2. india bat first, put in by england - 10 for 1 (it has to happen), and Uthappa sent in at 3 3. or, wins toss and decides to chase, as 'we have done well chasing' Link to comment
