Not necessary that you need a left-arm seamer. Look at the West Indies pace attack of the 70s-80s: Roberts, Holding, Marshall, Garner ... Or the Aussie one of the 00's ... McGrath, Gillespie, Lee ... Even the current South African one (though not on the level of the previous 2) ... Steyn, Morkel and Philander. Lets just groom quality fast bowlers. Who cares what arm they bowl with.

We are talking about indian fast bowling and Lefthanded openers have been employed from the 2000s by most teams.Its always good to have a good leftarmer in the side .Ofcourse they have to deserve it ,There are few good leftarm fast bowlers as mentioned in the thread and also in odi cricket on flat tracks it always good to have variety.

Completely agree but I dont think there needs to be any specific focus on left-armers. Groom a crop of good fast bowlers and worry about variety when it comes to selecting the team. If you look at the top pace attack right now, its full or right-armers so it's not a necessity.
