With Zak at the end of his career we need a left arm seamer as currently most teams have a bunch of lefthande batsman and leftarm seamer offer a great weapon against lefthanders and variation for the bowling attack. 1.R.P Singh- Has gained weight and lost his zip.But still lights fire under his ass he may come back. 2.Irfan Pathan-Odi specialist but needs to convince in tests again. 3.Sangwan-Young bowler who does swing it in to righthanders. 4.Sreenath Aravind-:finger: 5.Pawan Suyal-Has a good ranji record and said to be nippy. Really Pawan suyal is the one i would choose.

Suyal? He needs to last a full season first. Among other options are Aniket Chaudhary from Rajasthan, Anwar Ahmed Khan from Hyderabad, Jaydev Unadkat is obviously there. Looking at that list, one really wonders what a wasted talent RP Singh has been. With focus on his fitness rather than being content with the IPL money, he could so easily have played 70-80 tests for us in the post Zaheer era. Not to be.

What you need is quality seamers, right or left arm doesn't matter. I don't have any problem with left armers, its the explicit need to look for one that would bother me.

When you are building a attack it matters.Most right arm fast bowlers struggle against lefthanders Even steyn does,but hey have mokel.Our right armers also have struggled thats where zak was so good.Its not that we select him if he is not good enough.But if he is good enough we should play him as it will give variety to our attack.

Dont agree with this anyway, if you have a right armer that bowls predominantly away from a left hander but can also swing it back into him occasionally they are likely to do well against LHB's. Its the right arm seamers that just bowl outswing (in to LHB's) and feed left handers on the pads all day that make it seem right arm bowlers struggle against left handers.

morkel is very good against lefthanders.even sa tried a leftarmer aus will play starc or johnson in the attack as hilfenhaus is not doing well and cummins is always injured. When you have a good leftarm fast bowler it helps and we play on flat pattas so any variety is welcome also our right arm bowlers are not that good agianst lefthanders.

Well i am always in favor of variety if a lefty with good height bowls at sharp pace and swings it both ways like anwar Ahmed does so Iam all in favor of him IMO india's attack shud be umesh ,shami and suyal in test and Aaron ,bk ,Anwar Ahmed and pathan in odi umesh and suyal opening attack in test backed up by shami in one day bk and anwar Ahmed opening bowling,backed by Aaron and pathan

Not necessary that you need a left-arm seamer. Look at the West Indies pace attack of the 70s-80s: Roberts, Holding, Marshall, Garner ... Or the Aussie one of the 00's ... McGrath, Gillespie, Lee ... Even the current South African one (though not on the level of the previous 2) ... Steyn, Morkel and Philander. Lets just groom quality fast bowlers. Who cares what arm they bowl with.
