He will do things to attract media's attention and get his names on the news papers. Agree. After reading this I don't believe a word this publicity ***** is saying .The misogynistic uttering are the best and easiest way to get attention these days.Every tom dick and harry is crawling out of the rocks to get his /her share of the attention. As for the allegations against delhi police,I believe they are very capable of doing so but even they are not idiots to do so in such a high profile case. The police have gone out of their way to protect them after they were beaten up by the other inmates. Besides they were produced in court and they had confessed to the crime .They could have complained that time. This pathetic person is just trying to get some attention like he is known for.

But I think that's the case in low security prions. Not the high security ones.

No even high security ones, UK justice system in very lenient due to their "human rights", at least in indian prisons you will be living in bad conditions and beaten by the police!

You can't beat the worst of the worst criminals to pulp to get a confession. Hope this is an exception than a norm. Confessing under pressure and then retracting it is a standard act in all criminal cases. That is exactly what happens in every case - the criminals initially sign on a confession, then they claim that they were forced to do so, retract it, and then the police has to prove the case (with evidence) in a court of law. Nothing exceptional here!

Considering the mountain of evidence against them (eye witness, account from the victim, DNA..) i think whatever beating handed out to them might not have been to extract the truth .

(So you may want to assume that some kind of third degree maybe used here) d) Through these confessions police figure out the exact modus operandi and more importantly, collect all the evidences running from pillar to post. Indian courts usually require a mountain of evidence, and a good cop tries to collect as many evidences as possible. The more the merrier. e) The public prosecutor needs to explain the 'motive' of the criminal and 'the chain of circumstances', without which a case may not be watertight. f) After all the confession has been given out (blurted out during duress), the criminal may or may not receive bail. In cases of murder and prima facie evidence, they'll hardly ever get bail. g) Now once the criminal is no longer in 'police custody', he/she promptly retracts the confession and pleads 'Not Guilty'. And the case starts. h) Now in a court of law, the public prosecutor has to provide enough evidence to prove that someone is guilty. To explain in a few lines - the beating being handed out to them is to create a watertight case and make sure that nothing goes wrong. There have been cases where a heap of evidence has been completely neglected by the judiciary for some unexplained reason. The police is simply not taking a chance here. It is of course possible that the gory details of the case is making the police take the law in their hands.
