Bumper
Bumper mate did you take Gambit's "how to dumb down your wins" except this time with players course. If you did tell me watcha smoke in it. The Pathan u described is what left the Indian setup under Chapell. The PAthan we crave has every single one of that quality u mentioned and more. A fully fit and in form Pathan is the greatest thing that can happen to India's ODI team. Thats a BIG IF. If my aunty were an uncle & all that, yes, it would be great Link to comment

King Tendulkar
dude he is better than crapkar Whats that prove? Its like saying Bin Laden is a better human being then Hitler, means jack! Both aggy and crapthan should be axed! Link to comment

Parth
How long have we been wanting an allrounder. Link to comment
yoda
It is a good idea to play him here and may be try to get some of confidence back. He is a must in the ODI team if only he can improve his bowling just marginally. One problem is this is a wrong format and possibly the wrong set of pitches for a bowler. Link to comment
The Outsider
Pathan was never much of a test bowler, so to expect him to become a world beater there is unrealistic. On the other hand, he showed that in form he can be among the best allrounders in ODIs. That's where he should try to get back in and at the age of 22 there is a lot going for him. Link to comment
Predator_05
He is the closest India have ever gotten to producing a proper all-rounder since Kapil Dev. Worth persisting with. Although as others have stated in this thread, Twenty20 is the wrong stage for him to be launching his come-back on. Link to comment
bigdhoni7
im just looking forward to seeing him bat again. i dont expect him to pull miracles with his bowling. Link to comment
fineleg
20-20 is just the wrong format absolutely for Pathan - his bowling is likely to be shredded apart. He should have waited and tried for comeback in 50-50. Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Good selection. Can swing the ball and if conditions help could be very handy, but more importantly can be a serious impact player with the bat given his big hitting. And his fielding won't hurt either. Hopefully he'll get some form back and use this tourney to fight for an ODI place again. The balance of the ODI side would be far better with an on-form Pathan in the XI. Link to comment
Hawkeye
Back and about time to. Yes his bowling has been below par but this does not matter as much in 20/20 when even the best are going to be hit around the park. People forget that he can make an excellent contribution with the bat. Link to comment
living
I wonder how fast he is bowling now!! I'm excited I hope its 130+ thats all I ask, oh yeah and some swing :D Link to comment
sachin_fan
Irfan is india's best all rounder for the moment. He should be groomed like flintoff. I dont know if ppl remember, but freddie was initially compared to botham and he didnt prove his potential. He was dropped and came back. I am sure pathan will also make a good come back.
