Sorry It seems u did not watch the series dhoni was horrible in the series as a wk and He struggled with the ball swinging late after passing the stumps. Opening patnerhsip was what won india the series.

Yeah, scoring as many runs as wk-batsman on a flat track and then no 7 batsman saving a test certainly makes DK better batsman. :giggle:

Karthik's role was important in Eng series. But there is no excuse for failing for 8-9 innings on trot after that. Opening in Indian conditions is much easier job than playing at no. 7. Dhoni's keeping was ok, don't recall him dropping many, in England most keepers struggle.

It was always going to be difficult for karthik with dhoni in the team.He had to open the batting a position which is the hardest in cricket and he is not a regular opener .He failed in one series and he was out.He came back against srilanka in the mendis series where no indian batsman picked medis and struggled.

Dk has played against some tough attacks be it aussie attacks in 2004 or sa attack.He opened in sa and eng .Also dk has played 23 tests till now.mostly being stop start .
