Sehwag is done. Put a fork in him. The fatso doesnt inspire any confidence with his bowling. Not chasing after balls, dropping catches, etc. And he can't survive a good spell of bowling anymore. Drop him down the order and give him a couple of matches to see how he does and if he struggles then drop him for good.

If we take the last five years of Sehwag, his overall averages not significantly different from his career averages, and more interestingly Sehwag has scored at a breath taking strike rate of 92.41 during the last five years, which will make an ODI batsman proud! 2. The problem is with non subcontinental numbers. Sehwag's overall average is 35.36 which is not bad and was scored at 74.91, which is highly impressive. But since 2008, Sehwag has averaged a miserly 22.73 at a S/R of 79. 3. He has not played enough matches outside SC over the last two years, but based on what we have, both his overall numbers and outside SC numbers are below par. Sehwag has been scoring faster than ever before, during the last five years. But over the last two years, he has slowed down, both home and away. What I think happened is that during the earlier tours bowlers gave Sehwag width outside the off stump and allowed him to flourish. As we know, if you allow Sehwag to settle down, the bowler is finished. During the latter tours, bowlers managed to restrict the width and cramped him for room. Sehwag, without much feet movement and inferior defensive techniques was unable to score freely as he did before 2008. He had to evolve a better game against the incoming deliveries bowled against his body, which he did not, therefore big scores outside the subcontinent dried up completely. Sehwag's bad patch outside the SC has lasted so long that it is easy to conclude that he will be found out whenever he tours outside the SC again. If he regains form, he may be able to make a comeback in the SC games. But his career outside SC is probably finished, especially as an opener. He could make a comeback, but only as a more sedate Sehwag who is not all about belligerence. He needs to respect the pitches and bowlers and possibly improve his overall defensive techniques and not rely overtly on reflexes, and can't afford scoring at this Herculean rate and hope to simultaneously maintain high averages.
