rkt.india Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 The way i see it the team losing the toss is at even more disadvantage.Aussie still with a new batting lineup made near 400 runs and if they had good spinner we would be struggling and chasing anything above 150 on last day was going to be tough. We are supposed to bat better against spin their batsmen and that is why it is called advantage for home team and it is a risk worth taken against teams like Australia. Who wants drawn matches otherwise. Our bowlers right now are not good enough to take wickets on pitches other than this.

Our best two chances with stable batting line were in 2006 and 2010 which both were missed. You expect us to win now. No way we will even compete there this time around and will lose like Pak lost. We were extremely competive against South Africa with just good/decent batting backed up with very good bowling by our quicks supported by Bhajji. We nearly had the series the last time, but only for Zaheer injuring his hamstring and then Sree completely losing the plot in SA's second innings. It's not batting that wins you games in SA, it's the bowling. That and getting there early enough to get good preperation and warm up matches.

The ones upcoming we have are inexperienced. Ishant and Sreeshant are just hopeless.
