mhr123 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Boxer Ram Singh told Punjab police officials that he and Vijender Singh mistook drugs for food supplement
DomainK Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Boxer Ram Singh told Punjab police officials that he and Vijender Singh mistook drugs for food supplement  May be he is dumb enough not to be believed. If he can mistake drugs for food supplements, he could very well have mistaken a cat for Vijender.
Crookbond Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Boxer Ram Singh told Punjab police officials that he and Vijender Singh mistook drugs for food supplement  What kind of food supplements do they have? Wheat flour!
ganeshran Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Would he be stupid enough to use drugs with an active sports career. AFAIK, traces of these drugs stay in the system for months to years and one failed drug test is enough the cast a shadow over the entire career of a sportsman.
Dumbbells Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Lot of successful boxers have had some sort of psychological issues and many of them have used drugs as a relief.
mastana Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Can't believe Vijender Singh will be involved into this. :wall:
suraj Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Well top talent or not if he is guilty he should be severely punished but hoping that he was not really criminally involved
Yoda-esque Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Writings on the wall for Vijender... http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Drug-haul-Boxer-Vijender-Singh-quizzed-refuses-to-give-blood-sample/articleshow/18912625.cms
Crookbond Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Vijender took heroin 12 times: police http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/other-states/vijender-took-heroin-12-times-police/article4567179.ece?homepage=true The Fatehgarh Sahib drug seizure case took yet another sensational turn as the Punjab police on Sunday claimed that Olympic bronze medallist Vijender Singh consumed heroin at least 12 times after procuring it from alleged drug dealer Anoop Singh Kahlon, an NRI who has already been arrested in the case. As investigations did not prove the direct involvement of Vijender and his sparring partner Ram Singh, they would not be arrested at the moment, the police said. The police claimed their probe established that Ram Singh and Vijender took heroin from Kahlon and his associate Rocky for personal consumption between December 2012 and February 2013. First, in December, it was Ram Singh who procured the drugs and subsequently both the boxers went together to Zirakpur in search of heroin, once in January and twice in February. The police said they had initated legal formalities for a court direction to procure Vijender’s blood and hair samples . The boxer had previously refused to oblige the investigators with the samples. The release said that as hair testing facilities were not available in local forensic science laboratories, FSL authorities had been asked to provide information about a competent facility in the country that could conduct the tests appropriately. Meanwhile, the police claimed that after fresh seizures, the worth of drugs seized in the case now worked around to Rs 484 crore in the international market. On Sunday they seized 10 kg of methamphetamine, a chemical known as ‘Ice’ in the rave circuit and 230 kg of Pseudophedrine, which is used to prepare the contraband. Both ‘Ice’ and the raw material were to be smuggled to Europe and Canada through a UK national , who has already been arrested from Delhi in the case. So far 15 persons, including two Canadian and one UK citizen have been arrested, while another 25 have been identified to be part of the international network. Another kingpin, Jagdish Bhola, a dismissed Punjab officer, figures among those absconding.
DomainK Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Punjab police on Sunday claimed that Olympic bronze medallist Vijender Singh consumed heroin at least 12 times after procuring it from alleged drug dealer Anoop Singh Kahlon That's a bold claim and if they are so sure, I wonder why Vijender is already not arrested. If they have not enough proof to make an arrest, how come they are so sure that he did consume the drug 12 times?
Swing_n_Speed Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Damn is the situation in Punjab really that bad?
The Dark Horse Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Why can;t they be f'in disciplined? This guy was the face of indian boxing and now
Desi Cartman Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 These are not performance enhancing and its not like he was supplying so the poor guy is being screwed because he is famous. BTW Fardeen khan was also caught with cocaine but was released shortly
Magneto Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 These are not performance enhancing and its not like he was supplying so the poor guy is being screwed because he is famous. BTW Fardeen khan was also caught with cocaine but was released shortly a) Vijender, even if chargesheeted, will be on bail the way Fardeen was on bail. b) Fardeen would have surely got six months of jail, but the judge let him go when he successfully finished a rehab course in a hospital. c) Heroine consumption is anyway a bailable offence in this country, so Vijender will get bail and may take the rehab route and get away. His reputation and sponsorships would be at stake anyway, because 'doing drugs' is regarded as a social evil worldwide. :--D
