rkt.india Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Holding and Bishop were in your "some extent" class and Lillee was in a brief period class. But still I said they could and everyone knows about the injuries Bishop and Lillie suffered after which they slowed down. Bishop was pretty quick even in 1996 WC. I have seen Holding's quick spell video so I can say he did bowl at 95 mph at some point in time if not always because not bowler can bowl at that pace all the time. My argument is a 95 mph is one who is capable of bowling at that pace any day in his prime at will whenever he wants. Both Holding and Bishop had strong bowling actions to do that. I would say Marshall's quality was to be more skillful and thinking bowling rather than just being out and out quick. At first, I did not name Bond here in this list because he did not play enough and his injuries cut down his pace.
ravishingravi Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Marshall was definitely 95 mph bowler. From the naked eye and the testimonies of the batsmen who faced him. Some say at his peak he was quickest o the lot.
