Sachin=GOD Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 How so? It's the height of what a batsman can achieve its not. Lara made 400* so according to your theory, he must be the only great batsman ever.
I6MTW Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 its not. Lara made 400* so according to your theory' date=' he must be the only great batsman ever.[/quote'] Lara is the greatest test batsmen ever.
SLICKR392 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 How so? It's the height of what a batsman can achieve Who would you rather have, a guy with 50 tons and 15K runs averaging almost 55 or a guy with 2 triples that averages 40 odd ? Scoring 300 is a great deal but that doesn't make the batsman any less great.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Lara is the greatest test batsmen ever. :giggle:
I6MTW Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 :giggle: Of course he is. At least greatest modern day batsmen. Sachin is tied with him. I dont believe in Bradman as he played in an era where bowling was piss poor. Even considering his 100 average as something he would only be greatest older day batsmen.

Its your opinion nonetheless but how on earth is Sachin tied with him. Ponting, Lara and Dravid all have almost the same average and both Dravid and Ponting has scored more tons and runs than Lara did.

Ponting' date=' Lara and Dravid all have almost the same average and both Dravid and Ponting has scored more tons and runs than Lara did.[/quote'] Lara retired a bit early. He had 2-3 years left in him at max. He could've scored anoth 1000-2000 runs.

Usually most of the players struggle during the latter stage in their career. He could have also failed like Ponting or Dravid in the Aus series.

He could have also failed like Ponting or Dravid in the Aus series. Because unlike ponting, laxman, dravid etc. He retired when he was still scoring. Ponting retired when he couldn't score past 20 runs. Dravid had a couple of bad tours in Eng and Australia. Laxman was failing for a year.

Crookbond Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I am confused here - is this guy trolling or not? PS - What does I4MTW mean? :dontknow:

I6MTW Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Really??? Dravid had a bad tour of England?? :cantstop: Did he have a good tour in England? Aside from 2 good performances, he was at the end of his form.

vamos_rafa Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Did he have a good tour in England? Aside from 2 good performances, he was at the end of his form. No you are right. Dravid had a very bad tour of England. :hysterical::hysterical: Only Ravi Shastri had a good tour as he got some prime time coverage with Nasser Hussain.

Alright if he had such a good tour then why did we lose all the tests by huge abnormal margins.
vamos_rafa Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Alright if he had such a good tour then why did we lose all the tests by huge abnormal margins. He could only score the runs which he did. What do you expect him to do? Take wickets and score runs for the others as well.
