Something to think about

Almost throughout India Sachin Tendulkar is considered the greatest batsman of all time, correct? Does it not bother anyone that he doesn't have (and will never have) a triple century. Something very lacking from the man who 'has all the records'

You are spot on. Just yesterday I was up all night pondering the same and came to the conclusion Jayasuriya >>> Tendulkar. Hard for us to digest but you can't argue with triple tons

Your sarcasm is unnecessary. Of course it doesn't matter with someone who's average is much smaller but compared with say a Viv Richards, then these more specific things matter. The really great batsmen seem to have triple centuries (Lara, Viv, Bradman)

First you open your post/thread with "Almost throughout India Sachin Tendulkar is considered the greatest batsman of all time" and follow it up with saying Viv scored a triple hundred. What am I supposed to do :dontknow:

No mystery - he has hardly played any 5 match Test series which robs him of a good chance to score one.
but its not like every other batsman to score 500 has played 5 match series http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/282849.html majority of them are more then 4 match but dravid has scored once or twice lara did vs sri lanka ponting did vs us kallis did vs west indies u expect something like this from tendulkar as he is so consistent..

You can't take outliers man. In his prime, Tendulkar has played very few 4 or 5 match series.

In his prime' date=' Tendulkar has played very few 4 or 5 match series.[/quote'] its actually surprising to me tbh lol one guy i expected to be on that list was tendulkar.. just look at his consistency through out the world! or maybe this shows he never had great tour with otns of runs but never really had bad tours either where he failed completely.. and i agree we did not played many 4 match tests either.. that makes sense i completely forgot about it as lately we did get some 4 match series..

Combination of what I said earlier and the highlighted.

Richards has a trriple? Ponting has a triple? Kallis has a triple? Steve Waaugh has a triple? Gavaskar has a triple? Dravid has a triple?
but Gayle, Jayasuryia and Mahela does. :giggle:
