Mandeep hasn't really clicked this enitre season in any format. Punjab has been in the finals for a couple of times now...this time they need to win it. Manprit Juneja is scoring quite a few runs across the various formats. Good to see. Tough luck for Kerala but it was sort of a semifinal so they knew they had to win it or atleast not lose by a big margin.

Gujarat ended Kerala’s dream run as they beat them by 90 runs in the first match of March 30 (Saturday) at the Emerald High School ground in Indore, and Punjab beat Uttar Pradesh by 51 runs at the Holkar Cricket Stadium. After winning the toss, Kerala, who had won their first three games, got off to a good start picking up three wickets in the first five overs. However, an unbeaten 202-run stand for the third wicket between Manprit Juneja and Abdulahad Malik, which came in 15.4 overs, left Kerala with an uphill task. In his 50-ball innings, Juneja notched up his maiden Twenty20 century, which included 16 fours and three sixes. Malik helped himself to 84 with nine fours and three sixes. Starting the chase of 234, Kerala lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 143 in 19.1 overs. Mehul Patel and Jesal Karia picked up three wickets apiece. This is a tournament to identify players who can be chosen for IPL by franchisee that is the only reason this is still being played. It does not have any other significant importance.

This Asad Pathan is an attacking player.

IPL is an international tournament, I do not see it as a domestic competition. As for performers in Mushtaq Ali Trophy, doubt if these franchises even look at these tournaments barring a few exceptions here and there. IMO Challenger Trophy and Mushtaq Ali Trophy have no relevance in our domestic season and should be scrapped.

IPL is not an international tournament. If it is was the case, it would have had a free window. It is a domestic tourny in which foreign players take part like England and Australia's T20. CLT20 is an international tournament, not IPL. IPL is given so much importance just because it has lot of money. But agree about the bold part. Deodhar trophy is useless too. Duleep trophy is of little use in its current format.

(I think they've been finalists 3 times including this? ...recalling just from the top off my head) End to the domestic season, semis in Ranji, semis in Vijay Hazare, and finalists in t20. Nod bad...team is showing signs of improvement.
