He turns his off spin and ha a doosra too. Shillingford, Gabriel, Gayle, Samuels, Chanderpaul - Can give Pakis a nasty surprise this summer. Far stronger team than the one that drew 1-1 in 2011. Should prepare seamer friendly wickets.

If you see tests, swann definitely looks better but put in ODIs in the context and Ajmal suddenly looks a beast. And I'm not saying due to stats, in fact I haven't even checked the stats but by sheer impact in ODI games, Ajmal is better than Swann for me. BAD DAY for me I guess, 1st I wrote Hafeez better than Jadeja and now Ajmal better than Swann.

Yes, Swann is better in tests but he also has had many chances of playing in different conditions which ajmal never did since pakistan tours ENG, AUS and SAF seldomly. Swann was average too when he first toured India.

It may be unfair on Paki players but due to their board's irrelevance in the modern cricketing world they will have to seize opportunities on their first try because it may be their only try.

Exacttly unfair. Doesn't mean that swann is better. We can jusge and compare between two players when they play on similar conditions for similar number of games. Hence we cant just say Swann is better.

Does not matter if the other player has NOT played in certain conditions. Using your logic Ponting cannot be called better than Kambli as Ponting has played loads of matches all round the world and Kambli has played only 3 matches in SL(avg 83) and 1 match in Nz(avg 14). But that is not the case, is it?

And just like Ponting is better, Swann is better. Ajmal for better or worse we will never know how good (or bad) he could have been due to his late debut and lack of fixtures.

Kambli did not get selected whereas Ajmal is the best Pakistan has got today. He is not getting his chances for non-cricketing reasons. I would really like to see Ajmal and Swann playing against each other in the same matches. If I remember, both have played in 6 tests each and though Swann was much better than ajmal in England, it was more due to the poor pakistani batsmen. In UAE, ajmal was slightly better than swann, but again both were out bowled by Rehmann and Panesar. So, I guess both are similar in terms of quality.

He was a good keeper initially atleast till 2009. Went bad only in the last 4-5 years.
