I6MTW Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Regardless of formats: 1) Greame Swann 2) Saed Ajmal 3) Rangana Herath 4) Ravichandran Ashwin 5) Pragyan Ojha 6) Shakib Al Hassan 7) Ravindra Jadeja 8) Mohammed Hafeez
I6MTW Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 I think Swann is a more lethal player on non turning tracks. I forgot to add Hafeez as well. He is dangerous against left armers.
Tiger-Don Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 the most overrated is monty panesar.. bullshit bowler! india made turning tracks and thats the only reason why he had some success!
Junyfan Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Ajmal swann Herath ashwin/oja/Abdul rheman/monty.
Texan Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Ajmal would rank over Swann. Sir Ravindrasingh Jadeja will be at the top of the list :winky: Seriously, though I can see Jadeja evolving into a very good cricketer.
Texan Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 What a poor statement for the art of leg-spin this is that not a single leg-spinner is in any of the lists mentioned above.
deathmonger Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Swann is better than Ajmal. Far well rounded his stats. Oz - 39.80 (Only bad one) Eng - 30.55 Ind - 28.96 SA - 31.38 SL - 22.18 UAE - 25.07 WI - 24.05 Ajmal Oz - 111.50 Eng - 29.41 NZ - 58.50 SA - 33.18 SL - 30 UAE - 23.73 WI - 14.47 Ajmal has struggled in non spin friendly pitches of NZ,Oz and SA (Even the SA avg is due to one match in which pitch was very spin-friendly. He picked 1 wicket in the other two tests). He has also been less effective in SL than Swann who are very good players of spin.
Junyfan Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 ^^to be honest,he was not that good when he first come, untill 2010-2011 he was second spinner in the team after kaneria and Abdul rehman, but his improvement is unbelievable.
urbestfriend Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Top three for me Ajmal Jadeja Swann :hysterical::hysterical:
bharat297 Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I'd say Ajmal and Swann at the moment by a fair way. Ajmal has more variation but Swann is more accurate. Ajmal was getting decent turn, even on Day 1 on pitches in South Africa which I could not imagine someone like Aswhin doing.

Let's see what Ash does in 2013. He seems to have learned from the England series.
CoverDrive Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Regardless of formats: 1) Greame Swann 2) Saed Ajmal 3) Rangana Herath 4) Ravichandran Ashwin 5) Pragyan Ojha 6) Shakib Al Hassan 7) Ravindra Jadeja 8) Mohammed Hafeez good list I would remove Jadeja and Shakib (there are BAN spinners who are better than him) and have Monty in the list
rkt.india Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Shane Shillingford can become one of the best spinners soon. He looks very good. Another Shane on the block. He turns his off spin and ha a doosra too.
