Another of those myths busted. In the games won, below link shows how batsman from India (SRT), WI (Lara), SA (Kallis) performed in wins. SRT and Lara are not only below Kallis in that category, but also trailed their other, own countrymen. Used a simple 2000 min-runs scored in wins to qualify excluding BD. Sobers is the only one seperating himself fron the pack. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;opposition=1;opposition=140;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=6;opposition=7;opposition=8;opposition=9;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=2000;qualval1=runs;result=1;team=3;team=4;team=6;template=results;type=batting Above are just plain numbers, without even getting into the specifics of how some of these players performed, in most trying of circumstances in those wins. At least do some research before blurting out things, that make no sense and will not hold up against facts.
Well you have very smartly evaded the topic of oneday towards test, from Ab amla to kallis, tendulkar,Lara, and the discussion was about Ab ,amla faring against 90's bowler, kallis has been a beast in last 3-4 years while sadly tendulkar has been out of form since then so his record is bound to take a hit.

Hmm...More discounts to be given to Tendulkar because he is out of form. May be they need to make an allowance, so that his record does not take a hit.

We are talking about real cricket here, ok, not some audulterated cricket formats like 50 overs or 20-20. As I said may be to please the Tendulkar fanboys the world over, we should make some allowances and get an average adjustment to accomodate the out of form SRT, and see if that puts him over the hump to overtake Kallis stats wise. And one more thing if one takes SRT's favorite opponent BD out it looks even more worse for him. For your pleasure. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;opposition=1;opposition=140;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=6;opposition=7;opposition=8;opposition=9;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=3000;qualval1=runs;template=results;type=batting

this thread is about odi ok and not about your real test test. Matches and why would u take Bd out,and beside that how many matches has tendulkar played against Bangladesh ,all formats require special skill,be it test,ODI or t20 or your obsession or your blind hatred for tendulkar is so strong that u r denying the facts that I have put in front of u.

And I am not a tendulkar fan or kallis hater, both are legends of game ,tendulkar the better batsman, kallis the better cricketer, tendulkar didnt utilize his bowling skills for a long time, which is the only grudge against him,the man can bowl offspin, legspin, seamups.kallis was a genuine quick early one and fared better as far as bowling is concerned.

Hmm..ok..I believe you are not a SRT fan.

There is no denying that Tendulkar is a great batsman, your fact presenting notwithstanding, but great in the sense, he belongs in a list of other greats like Lara, Sobers, Richards, Greg Chappell, RD, VVS, Kallis, Ponting etc. One may have a preference of one over the other, but to put Tendulkar or Lara on some pedestal and downplay others (like calling them second tier and list RD, Kallis etc in there) which many do here, is just not on, simply because the facts do not add up, outside of some class apart non-sense and other subjective criteria.

Walsh's 3.5 economy is no joke to laugh at' date=' but Kallis's 56+ average is, so much so that in the same full decade(2000's) that both he and Sachin played together he easily topped Sachin, but because someone who goes by SachinLara says he is a second tier batsman, we should discount his batting and treat his average more like a 30.[/quote'] He is a second tier batsman because he has nowhere close to the # of series/matches averaging 50+ against bowlers who average under 25 or have taken 300 wickets. Nomatter how you like to spin it, scoring 300 against a mediocre attack is not a superior batsmanship than scoring 100 against a world class attack.
