Holysmoke
Very very tough call. Powar has been brilliant for us in the last series... As for Bhajji..... he's been amazing throughout this tournament, bar 1 over. Looking back at the game, and the decision to bowl Harbhajan Singh in the 18th over - in which he gave away only three runs and took a wicket - Dhoni said: "Harbhajan wanted the responsibility - he said 'give me the ball I want to bowl'. He had the confidence. We needed a guy who had the confidence at the time. He proved it - he got us a wicket and got us into the game." Who would you go for? Link to comment
Lurker
I shall go by the looks and Powar beats Bhajji in a close race. Link to comment
Cricketics
a good problem to have.... we are getting rich among talent:cantstop: what about piyush btw?? Link to comment
DesiChap
Bhajji ! he can bat and field and bowl better than Powar Link to comment
Guest dada_rocks
mind u bhajii still bowls flat unlike powar who has supreme confidnenc in his ability.. nice problem to have.. keep them both.. but then there is chawla Link to comment
Predator_05
Both of them. India simply cannot drop Powar after his magnificent performances against England - he was India's best bowler; bowling economical spells amidst the carnage wreaked out by the English batsmen. Drop Chawla and put him in the Test squad instead. Fat chance of this happening though. Link to comment
chanakya
hmm the only country Powar has been in effective is the Aussies. harbi on the other hand. The problem is that the aussies do have the power to take Powar to the cleaners unlike the english who have just a couple. Link to comment
atash
I think take power, bhaji, chawla then if the pitch look turning a bit then power and bhaji, if pitch has rough patches then bhaji and chawla, if pitch is flate seems to give no movement then only chawla....what do you gys think????? Hi atash, welcome to the forums. Powar should be first choice spinner no matter what condition the pitch is in. His style of bowling isn't dependent on the pitch. Harbhajan is a wicket-taker only when there is a bit of bounce in the wicket. Ideally, it would be a toss-up between Harbhajan and Chawla for the 2nd spinners' slot Link to comment
novpj
Powar without a doubt and he should be included in the test squad too. Link to comment

It means you HAVE to bring on a spinner in the power plays and that can be a dangerous. But surely , there is no way Powar can be dropped. He must be persisted with and only if he fails for 4-5 matches in a row, should Bhajji be brought in. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Play both. Two world class finger spinners, both with incredibly contrasting styles that'll make it hard for batsmen to adapt, both with plenty of accuracy and wicket-taking potential - you could be looking at a major match winning combo for ODIs from hereon. The Outsider
I think both should play, specially with the new rule of three players being allowed outside the ring in the second and third powerplays, it gives the spinners more breathing space. Both did a fantastic job in tandem last year. Link to comment
novpj
If we have to play two spinners why wont we play Chawla - he brings variety to the attack (off spin with leg spinners action :-) ) Link to comment

Chawla, part of the Twenty20 sqaud in South Africa, twisted his ankle during practice and was replaced by Joginder Sharma for India's matches against South Africa and Australia. Dilip Vengsarkar, the chairman of selectors, told the Indian Express that Chawla was likely to miss the entire series against Australia as he had been advised six weeks of rest. Chawla was picked for the ODIs against Australia along with offspinners Harbhajan Singh and Ramesh Powar. In England the legspin-offspin duo of Chawla and Powar achieved some degree of success, taking nine wickets in the six ODIs they played together. Chawla took 15 wickets and Powar 19 overall in the tour. Vengsarkar said the selectors hadn't yet thought of replacing him in the squad. "We haven't decided on it yet as the team already has 15 members," he said. © Cricinfo Link to comment
