carnish Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Even in T20s, Ojha is better than Ashwin .. even after playing mostly in Mumbai's flat batting wickets while ashwin plays on chennai slow wickets. More wickets, slightly better ER, much better strike rate and very good average. :finger: to all those saying he is not India's best spinner.

But in the test series Ojha was anything but the best. He was bowling all over the shop. Also Ashwin changes his action for three formats. In this he was doing some new experimentation like leg spin. I like to see bowlers thinking about growing as a bowler not being stuck in the same place without adding any skills which our pacers do.

Ojha was mentally depressed in the test series because he was dropped for the stupid Bhajji and hence was off his mark. He was good against England.

He was good against England. He was good in one test.. not in other tests. But also that is not a valid excuse . If you are going to be down on performance because of depression then he has to learn a lot. But i don't think that was the case. Ojha is definitely better than Bhajji. But totally outbowled by Jadeja in the test series as a left arm spinner.

Jadeja did outbowl him but in suitable conditions. I remember, sachin taking 5 wickets in a ODI at kochi where kumble failed to get a single wicket. Doesn't mean sachin was a better spinner than kumble.
